Ok Maybe bumb was to harsh of a word. Lets just say Lacy was far from top tier and more than a little green at the time.

Eubank was well passed it.

Bika, Salem.....who?

Robin Ried might be the only one that qualifies and he didn't do that well did he.

I like to point something out. My post was more a show of support to a new member that was getting bombarded. I always put a lot of stock on long reigning champions and give Joe all respect for defending his title so successfully for so long.

But I stand by what I said. He has yet to fight a true threat to his throne till now. I'm going to settle this with two simple questions.

1) What has Mikkel Kessler done to be considered a world class fighter?

2) Is Mikkel Kessler the biggest challange in Joe Calzaghe's career?
I wouldn’t say that. Going into the Lacy match. most of my mates , including meself thought Calzaghe was going to be snuffed in short order. never saw it coming to be honest... That was a good solid win for Joe make no mistake.
on Kessler
Kessler has good chance of winning this match. Kessler seems to have a nice work rate, good size, determination factor . if i remember correct on the Calzaghe vs Lacy, Joe was a bit of clincher once he got out in front a few rounds, he was able to bullshit the shorter Lacy on the inside. I believe that Kessler stands as tall as Joe ? , If so all that tying up shouldnt have the same advantages it did vs Lacy.. I think Kessler just might sparks Calzaghe inside 8 ? anyway should be an interesting match.
