Panama Lewis was the former trainer of Aaron Pryor while Pryor and Arguello we're going to war in the early 80's. During the first fight Pryor looked like he was fading fast and by the time round 10 came around he looked dead tired. During the break in I think the 11th round, Panama Lewis took out a black bottle shaped like a water bottle and Pryor came out in the 12th with a new wind. But his worst offense happened about a year later. He was managing a journeyman Luis Resto who was being used as a stepping stone for undefeated Billy Collins Jr. Well Lewis knew his fighter had no chance but it was a nationally televised fight on the Roberto Duran - Davey Moore undercard so Lewis and Resto wanted to make a statement. So prior to the fight Lewis removed pretty much all of the padding from Resto's gloves. The damage accumulated over 10 rounds and Resto got the decision as Collins' eyes were swollen and his eyesocket was broke.

About 2 years later Lewis and Resto were found out and convicted of fraud and both spent a year in jail and both were banned from boxing for life. Collins received so much damage too his eyes that he was told he would never fight again and he would eventually go blind. I guess it was to much for him to handle because he commited suicide a year or so after hearing word about his sight.

So yeah, there isn't a word to harsh to describe Panama Lewis.
