Most boxers with a creible physique would have trained their lats at one point or another, so do n't worry about developing big lats like a bodybuilder unless it is your intention to do so.
If anything you will gain punching power if your body is more developed.
I have developed my lats pretty well due to weight training and from my experience there has been no real difference in my boxing movements at all.
So yes, my advice would be to do some kind of weight training regime....You will become a better athlete for sure
