I disagree. It's just a different kind of boxing match. Plenty of southpaws are pure boxers. If Spinks was orthodox, with his skill set, he could give still Mayweather problems, though I'll repeat, Floyd would win any day.
Its not the same kind of match... Floyd gets countered by left crosses that he would never get hit by if he was boxing normally. Leonard against Benitez and against Hearns the jab reallly played a factor, but in a orthodox vs southpaw match up its harder to counter, and to use the jab.
No, it's not the same kinda of match, but it's still a boxing match, even with Floyd coming forward more. Understanding what you are getting at, and right now, I don't think there are any orthodox fighers who have the speed, skill set, and disposition to make a real "boxing" match - I guess Paulie M would be the closest, but I don't think that would much of a test.
