Well it's easy to throw out a sentance like that.
How about backing it up.
I agree that Siaca & Beyer aren't elite fighters but you tell me Calzaghes top 2 opponents.

A past his best Eubank and Jeff Lacy or Byron Mitchell You pick one.

So Siaca & Beyer and Eubank & Lacy or Mitchell? I mean not much there to choose from right?

SO that's why I said when this fight was announced throw out the window opponents, throw out the window punch stats.
Only talk about each fighter and their styles cause come Nov. that's all that's gonna matter in that ring.
Well Mick,He may not have boxed several huge name, but thats largely due to the fact that there really were'nt that many big names around during Calzaghe's reign. Quite simply, he couldn't box superstars as they really weren't there. Lacy is the first that springs to mind and Calzaghe took a fight with him as quick as he could.

However Jo has boxed a number of what i would deem "intermediate," fighters. Guys that are there giving it there all, restricted only by their skill limitations etc.
Guys like Salem, Bika, Reid all gave Calzaghe tough tests but Joe ticked the boxes.
Similarly to RJJ, not that many huge names but the way he ticked the boxes was incredible!
Right donny.
But what I did is the same thing he did to Kess which was point out his 2 biggest opponents. (Tho I don't agree with him)
And trust me I know and understand all about not having big names for him to fight.
I was agreeing with you up until you mentioned RJJ cause IMO RJJ & Joes careers are worlds apart.
RJJ fought Hopkins, Toney, Paz, McCallum and also won a title as a Heavyweight P4P the best fighter of his era.
So you mean to tell me Salem, Bika, Reid hold grown against RJJs opponents?
Like I said I didn't want to hack at Joe but if Kess is gonna get hacked for that then lets look at both of their opponents.

Hmm..dunno about that. There's quite a big difference.

Eubank is rated top 10 best ever Supermiddle by everyone that knows their arse from their elbow. Beyer and Siaca most certainly aren't.

Plus Siaca lost TWICE to Byron Mitchell. That makes Mitchell defintely superior to Siaca. Considering Mitchell didn't last six minutes with Calzaghe I think that speaks volumes.

Maybe Siaca and Beyer are more like Calzaghe's Sheika and Woodhall.
Right Eubank is rated top 10 but you would agree that when he fought Joe he was nowhere near that?
IMO, that's like giving Tszyu credit for his win over JCC.
I agree on Mitchell that's why I put him as an option I know Mitchell is world class.
So Joe has 1 opponent whos apart from Kess.
Like I said IMO all thats gonna go out the window come Nov. 3rd.
As honest as I can be and you Fens should know this IF and when Joe beats Kess fair and square not by gift decision or any little flake job believe me Fens he would have proven that hes def. the best Super Middle of his time and he def. deserves all the credit and respect that he hasn't gotten.
I've been a fan of Kess for years now before he became a champ and I knew he'd be a champion one day there was something about his style that was just straight forward here to fight style that he had/has when I saw him he was fighting Manny Sobral the 'Golden Boy' Larsen was on the card.
Anyway my point being I've seen Kess grow as a boxer from a one, two guys to a three, four punch guy. His defense has vastly improved but IMO his patience is his biggest set back he waits around to long and of he gives Joe that space to think Joes gonna eat 'em alive.
