Ah, if confidence alone won fights.
Mike Tyson wouldn't have gotten his first two losses. Sure, Hatton is actually in shape, unlike Tyson, but the fact that he believes in himself doesn't change too much. Allan Green believed in himself until Edison Miranda smacked him around a couple times. Then his "colon" was bothering him. James Toney would have a perfect record. Jeff Lacy wouldn't have crossed the pound just to hand his belts over to Joe Calzaghe.
I don't give Hatton ZERO chance. Any fighter has the potential to beat any other fighter by landing THAT punch. But how does Mayweather take him lightly by Hatton's criteria? (Paraphrasing) he's a strong kid, high work rate, lots of punches, body punches, fought 500 matches... is there any more to him than that? Does he fly? Is he armor-plated? Is there ichor in his veins? If Mayweather goes into their match with those things in mind he's taking Hatton for exactly what he is and pedigree against pedigree points to Mayweather in a landslide.
