It's been said already, but what boxing needs is a national commision to oversee and regulate all contests with the same standards applied to all fights. One thing I HATE to see is a fight who's like 4 - 15 who's been KO'd 13 times fighting an undefeated prospect... that bullshit really gets to me. Once you've had a certain number of KO losses, you shouldn't be allowed to fight anymore.
With a national commision you might also see the rise of a boxers association/union like you see in all other major professional sports (even the National Lacrosse League has a players union).
