Tua was never a world champ because no one would fight him. Only Lewis give him a shot. Tua was dangerous for any brawler
That is a reason I find hard to believe. In no way do I feel that Evander Holyfield would not have been willing to fight him, Chris Byrd fought him another former champion that would not have refused to fight David Tua if he managed to put himself in line for a shot at the IBF title while Chris Byrd held it.

To say that David Tua was never world champion because no one would fight him is not a valid excuse for him not winning a world title.
