He never actually beat the best guy at the time when he picked up his trinkets at 140(Hatton) or 147(Margarito) or 154(Mosley), these three were undoubtedly his toughest challenges and the best of their respective divisions when he last fought there. So Floyd still may lose to the actual best of 140/147/154.
Mosley had already announced that he was moving back to 147. So when Floyd fought Oscar at 154, you could make a very strong argument that Oscar was the best fighter at 154. Mosley wasn't even in that division anymore.

Manny might KO Juan Manuel Márquez ranked no.3 p4p by RING & what if he moved up and beat Baby Bull or Casamayor?
Ya, but the key word there is "might." If he KO'd Marquez and then beat Diaz and/or Casamayor at 135, then people would start giving serious consideration to Pacquiao as the fighter of the decade.

But those are pretty big Ifs. All 3 of those fighters you listed would stand a very good chance of beating Pacquiao.
yeh i guess i have to agree with you.. regardless whether or not Oscar was 1, 2 or 3 at 154 its still a big win even as a split decision.

and i agree it would be a massive feat for Pac to win those 3 bouts especially considering that he would enter the ring as the underdog in all three.

Right now Floyd is ahead by a mile IMO, and someone is really going to have an amazing 3-4 years to catch up with him IMO.

14-0 since 2001 with wins over guys like an undefeated Diego Corrales, Jesus Chavez, 2 wins over Castillo (the first one being very controversial I know), Sharmba Mitchell, Zab Judah, Chop Chop Corley, N'Dou, Oscar De La Hoya, and POSSIBLY undefeated Ricky Hatton in December. Maybe the most astonishing fact is that these victories have ranged from 5 fucking weight divisions, super featherweight against Diego Corrales to LIGHT MIDDLEWEIGHT against Oscar De La Hoya (who is not washed up like so many Floyd haters would have you believe.)

There are a lot of guys that have had a great decade so far (pac and cotto included), but IMO Floyd's current statistics are above the rest.

No way is PBF a scapegoat, he is a great fighter and arguably has the best record of any current fighter. Yeah Bhops is good and he deserves to be considered, but he may only have one fight left, whereas PBF can really stamp his authority on this decade in the next few years.
Pac has a good record too, but it think most would agree that if 130 PBF met 130 Pac, Floyd would have won.
never said floyd isn't a great fighter, but i just don't think he has done as much as he could of. i don't think he really went out and tried to accomplish a lot, unlike fighters like pac or pavlik even cotto. those three comes out and take fights after fight and win with authority. As of floyd he had a lot of share of easy opponents from 2003 to 2006. He has no big win in the welterweight division and he has only one fight at lightmiddleweight. His biggest accomplishments are long ago in the early 2000 and in the featherweight division. Floyd could of taken on casamayor or koysta at the lightweights but he didn't. he jump up in the welterweights to fight lesser oppenents.

I know bhop could have one fight left but as far as this decade of accomplishment goes floyd has NOT surpass bhop, in the p4p rankings yes but no way has he surpass bhops achievement. If i had to vote now for fighter of the decade, i'll vote bhop but if i was to vote who it could be by the end of 2010 i'll vote for pavlik, cause at pavliks pace he could beat all the top fighters in his division and or up. Unlike floyd he keeps it on the safe side. Hatton at 147 barely got by urango and collazo now floyd is taking him on....go figure.
Attaboy!!! Now you're talking, my boy. That's the way to go!

I don't agree with Prettyboy's fans who always sez he's the most skilled. What's skill in boxing anywayz. I think when you talk about skill, it's a matter of right balance. Between the extremes of sluggers on one end and the runners on the other, the well-skilled fighter should be somewhere around the middle. They say pac's on the slugger's side whereas PBF is on the runner's side. Although I don't agree with both styles but many spectators, who're usually bloody-thirsty, prefer the sluggers, that's why he's called the most exciting, although maybe not the best, and again, I don't necessarily agree with that either. But take note, folks, in his last fight against Barrera, he's turned into a complete fighting machine, taking the more balanced middle road. (I wonder why boxing illiterate pac-fans are grumbling, though) They said he counter-punched. No that's not exactly true. Most time, he initiated the contact, drawing Barrera's counterpunch and then he 'countered the counter.' So definitely he didn't run. He was the aggressor but this time unlike before, he was not a mindless and defenseless slugger. He completely dominated the guy who's supposed to be a better technical fighter! He dominated Marco more than the way Marquez dominated him, the best counterpuncher they say and I tended to agree. So guyz, whether you like it or not, beware, cuz we might be seeing the dawning of a new, mean, total fighting machine called THE pacman in the future who can hit, run and hit again and again with one of the most devastating punches out there!

But having said that, I have to say that I have my doubts, though. I think he might have resorted to 'boxing' cuz he wasn't in condition, and I think he was weight drained. Maybe, just maybe, he didn't have enough energy to engage Marco in an all out war. I can be wrong and hope so, though. I think he's going wobbly after Marcos illegal punch was for real and was due to his being drained. But whatever, we'll see in the future and in the meantime, all pac-fans keep their fingers crossed. I've been saying he can't go on fighting like that for long as I've noticed some wear-and-tear in him lately, and so now, after seeing him do a superb boxing job against Marco, I think the ripe ol' time has come for him to change - to change into a more complete fighter... All right, how 'bout some pac and pacfan bashing now!

A guy who had difficulty with the likes of Castillo at 135(?)? No way, imo. Floyd fans like to brag that pac has not faced anyone like him, but let me also brag back that the Prettyboy has not faced anyone near pac either. So we're equal here. So let's shake our hands on this one and stop calling us haters cuz we ain't one.

Pac started at 112 and went up 6 blocks up to 130, while PBF started at 130 and went up 3 or 4 blocks up to 154? (correct me if I'm wrong) If that's correct, we've got a clear winner here. So pac doesn't even need to go up to 135 for that matter, and I'm one of the few who's against him going higher, as you've seen, he's over-extended himself already. Ok, PBF fans, how 'bout hug and kisses? Haha.

All right, where are all the pac-fans hiding. Me and Julius have got no time to defend our boy all by ourselves. Come on back out of lairs and do what you're all supposed to do here... In the meantime, adios mga kaibigan!
    Blind Fanboyism at its best.
U knock PBF for having trouble with an alltime great in JLC at 135, well Pac got KTFO by singsurat?, torrecampo? and beaten by Morales. Did u not see the second PBF v Castillo fight? A one sided PBF win. PBF also knocked down then 33-0 Corrales at 130, something i think Pac could never do.
PBF has gone up 24 pounds, Pac has gone up 24 pounds so that is even. U didnt even get the facts about your boy manny right, he started at 106.

Debate by yourself , u did pretty well, u dont need the Pac gang to take me on.
    CC for your efforts.
Relax pal, you can say anything against me and as long as you don't call me a 'hater,' you're still ok with me. CC right back at ya! Cheer up.
Once in awhile, get outside in fresh air, take a deep breath & with a deep sigh, let out all the things that's bottled up inside you & be free, & you'll get a glimpse of nirvana.
