Default Manfredo Lacy set... Hatton Mayweather undercard.

I like this fight. I love both fighters and I'd like to see how both fair with both coming off of surgeries and layoffs... This will be a very fan friendly fight and I look forward to it. Niether man do I expect to back down...

I tend to agree. But manfredo has more movement then he is usaually given credit for... If he can box he has a shot. Manfredo is ellusive with the right game plan. I tend to lean toward Lacy on this one but do give Peter a shot.

The Roy vs Joe @ 168lbs arguement kills me.

Roy fought Toney, Antoine Byrd, Pazienza, Thorton, Sosa, Lucas, & Brannon. Everyone ups Jones so highly off of those opponents at 168lbs & that list really aint shit. I'm sorry...but it's not. The only worthy name there is Toney. Paz was waaaaaaaay past it. Brannon was much to talk about nor was Byrd or Thorton. Lucas was so so.

Those are a bulk of names, outside of Toney, that hold no merit...but everyone lambasts Calzaghe for dominating his division at a weak time...but it's not like Jones fought the strongest opposition at 168lbs.

Roy was a marvel at 175lbs & that is where he fought his best opposition.

I'm taking Manfredo to beat the washed up Jeff Lacy. I see the shoulder injury Lacy had robbing him of his power. Without his power Lacy is pretty much a journeyman. And even as crappy as Manfredo is (and he's pretty crappy) he can still beat a journeyman.

Do u honestly think Joe C could have beaten 168 Toney as easily as RJJ did? Do not get carried away there Wacko, Kessler is a similiar calibre fighter to 168 Toney which is fucken good, but even tho Joe won easy he didnt toy with Mikkel like Roy did with Toney. Paz was way past it but Roy almost knocked him into next week. I cant believe u think a 168 Joe would beat the RJJ that fought at 168. Joe Calzaghe has the best record ever @ 168, but RJJ was the better fighter.
I dont think RJJ lost a single round in those fights u mentioned and most of those names got KTFO early.

I am intrigued by this fight even though the outcome is 99% in favor of Lacy.

It's the only reason I would order the fight. Still, I am only ordering one or the other, either this or the Cotto-Mosley fight. The Cotto-Mosley undercard is a much better buy...

Yet that Lacy-Manfredo fight is such odd match up that I can't help but want to order the less appealing card.

I hope Lacy beats him decisively. Im sick of hearing about Manfredo and hearing his name mentioned among elite fighters. Im not sure who wins this one though. But even if Manfredo wins I still got to see David Banks make him look like absolute sh@t and that was good enough for me.

Wow! I hope you are wrong, my man. Still, that any of us who have boxing knowledge (and you do) thinks that scares me.

This is in the wrong spot...but I'll respond anyways.

First off...where did I say that Joe could have beaten Toney?

    I didn't. I said that Roy hasn't done jack @ 168lbs compared to Joe...& he hasn't.

Once again...I never said that Joe could beat Roy @ 168lbs. Read that post...you'll see that you took my words out of context.

Again...Joe did more at 168lbs than Roy did. Again...outside of Toney, that list of names holds little to no merit...but everyone lambasts Calzaghe for dominating his division at a weak time...but it's not like Jones fought the strongest opposition at 168lbs either.

Roy was a marvel at 175lbs & that is where he fought his best opposition.

My initial feeling is that this will be an easy fight for Lacy. However, Manfredo looks like a completely different (and much better) fighter when he has Roach in his corner.

Interesting match-up . got to respect Jeff for taking a solid fight after having the rotator injury and the inactivity.

Agreed...it's a good step in rebuilding Lacy...I guess...I just don't really rate or dig on Manfredo.

Roy was a marvel @168 too. Instead of hanging around at 168 where the opposition was weak he moved up. No doubt RJJ could have had 21 defenses @ 168 if he'd tried. Again i agree Joe has the better record @ 168 but if the RJJ that fought at 168 had fought Joe at any time in his career Roy would have won. I'm not saying Kessler was overrated or taking away from Joe's achievments they are great, he is a great great fighter, but i do not believe he is better than RJJ was at 168.

The proof is in the pudding.

If Joe moves up & fights 6 fighters at 175lbs & then retires...I wouldn't say that Calzaghe was better @ 175lbs than Roy was.

Joe did more & fought a better list of fighters @ 168lbs...you can't spin that too many different ways. Again...Roy WAS a great fighter...but he was great @ 175lbs where he established his dominance.

Also...nothing is certain regarding the RJJ at 168 walking through Joe...but it is fun to speculate.
