Amateurs and pros are totally different Bowe hit Lewis with some good shots in first round which should of been standing 8 count for Lewis atleast twice imo Bowe was not hurt by the right hand he was stopped with and could of easily go on i think Bowe could of took the young wild Lewis.
Amateurs and pros are completely different that much is true...
However the amateurs is a solid foundation upon which the pro-structure is built. Lewis showed an ability to read Bowe and dismantle his offence in that fight.
The first round rarely contains eight counts-particularily in the Olympics, it is usually in the second or third the referee initiates warnings and penalties.
Furthermore as an amateur yourself you no that the referee does not ajudicate as a pro referee does and checks how the fighter is feeling. If a amateur boxer is being comprohensively outboxed and eating big punches (particularily at heavy+) the fight will be stopped.
