Exactly...Cotto has a better chance to beat Floyd, but Tony is dangerous fight for Cotto. It's dangerous situation when your biggest weakness plays into your opponents greatest strength. You need a jab to beat Mayweather, and Cotto has a great jab. You need powerful uppercuts to beat Cotto, and Tony is the best in the business at those.
That's a very very good post and I totally agree with you for once.

Boxing has unwritten rules. You lose, you go back a few notches and work your way back up. Since when can a 4-loss fighter demand an immediate match against an undefeated champion? I'm not saying Margarito doesn't belong in there with the elite. I'm just saying he needs to wait in line. And if that means waiting until after Cotto and Floyd have a "go" at it, then he's just going to have to be patient. I'm sure there's gonna be a lot of people around here just waiting for Cotto to lose, so they can put him at the end of the line. Margarito looked great last night. But let's not get completely carried away.

Just my opinion, of course.
Some excellent points as per usual my friend. The other side to this is that,Tony has been at WW for a long time and has beaten a long list of fighters, fringe contenders, young fighters etc. He deserves a shot alot more than anyone else and has yet to recieve it. I have no qualms about a Floyd-Cotto fight,I just think Floyd is going to be a bitch in negotiations and I'd rather Cotto stayed active rather than waiting around for Floyd who wil beat Hatton, then dilly dally around for the most amount of $$$,make an anonouncement of his retirement and then MAYBE fight Cotto. Tony is there. He'll fight anytime, any day.No hassle.
