He will fight him and most likely WANTS to. Sturm was ringside watching this fight. And if it wasn't Castillejo they were talking about rematching Griffin.

I've just checked Felix Sturms homepage and he will fight Castillejo in Summer(maybe july) next year...
But he will make a voluntary defense before that against Randy Griffin, who he fought only to a draw some weeks ago.He stated after that fight that he will give Griffin a rematch...The fight against Griffin
will most probably be in april next year...

Sturm beat Masoe thus becoming WBA Champ at the same time JT was striped of the 'Super Champ' title and that makes Sturm by default the only WBA Champ.
Castillejo knocks his ass out in 10 and becomes WBA Champ.
Carrera knocks Castillejo out in 11 but tested positive thus making the fight a NC and the WBA named Castillejo champ again rightfully so.
Castillejo gives Sturm a re-match and Sturm somewhat convincingly won a UD fight. It depends on how you score fights. I personally thought Sturm won it by 3 rounds.

Im not saying he doesn't deserve it im just disappointed in Sturm Mick i was expecting good things from Sturm like i said earlier and he hasn't done anything since Oscar De La Hoya fight if Sturm beats Castillejo he doesn't get any credit and if he loses ?? well that could put his career in jeopardy i just see lose lose situation here.

Sturm refused that fight for good cause...it was going to be in Taylor's backyard Little Rock, Arkansas. Negotiations stalled & they brought in Joppy. Taylor vs Sturm negotiations would jump start once again...they went only a tiny bit further the second go round...with the fight going back to Little Rock. Sturm's people went ape shit again as Taylor's people lambasted Sturm as a coward for not wanting to fight in Taylor's hometown...personally...I wouldn't have fought Taylor in Germany...HBO bought him more decisions than a fat kid eats cup cakes!

Oddly enough...they listened to Sturm's promoters frustrations...so they moved it...where? To Memphis, Tennessee...where Ronald "Winky" Wright would take Sturm's place & go toe to toe to gut out a draw...a draw that most considered a win.

I am a big fan of Winky Wright, but I thought Taylor won this. Wright was lazy in the later rounds and shot himself in the foot. I agree with what you say about why Sturm didn't take the fight with Taylor though.

ICB is just frustrated with Sturm's career, as am I. After the Oscar fight, he got alot of credit, but he seems happy to take his mandatorys right now. It's annoying, because he recently said he'd try to unify with Abraham, but instead has planned next year fighting Griffin (again) and Castillejo (again). I understand the WBA will force him to make the second fight, but surely he should be kicking on for a new opponent instead of fighting Griffin, a guy he should have beaten with ease in the first place.
