ICB, I'm not sure where you read that their was talks about an Arguello vs. Sanchez fight.
As honest as I can be I don't think I've ever read and or heared in video/audio about that fight ever being talked about.
For starters while Arguello was the Featherweight champ from '74 to '76, Sanchez had just kicked off his career as a Featherweight.
In '77 Arguello moved up to Super Featherweight, won a title in '78 and fought his last fight there in '80. That same year Arguello moved up to Lightweight and won a title there '81. By this time in '80 Sanchez had just won the Featherweight title 2 divisions below and was just another Champion at that time. On May 5th '82 Sanchez fought Jorge Garcia, on May 22nd '82 Arguello fought his last fight at Lightweight and moved up to Light Welterweight. Making it 3 divisions apart an even further stretch to talks about them fighting eachother.
I think ICB, you might be confusing peoples talks here about them wanting to see this fight happen as opposed to it ever actually being talked about.
Cause I know a lot of people throw info. around here and say "I heared this....." or "I read this...." it's really up to you to determine wether someones telling the truth or not.

I see it on a article a long time ago but you are right i think the only realistic chance the fight could of been made was in 1980 when Arguello was still Superfeatherweight.

Don't get me wrong Alexis-Sanchez could have happened but I don't think it was ever in the makings.
Same thing with JCC-Sanchez they could have fought somewhere in '82 before his death but JCC was like 23-0 while Sanchez was an established champ and at 2 different weight classes.

Well JCC started off his career at Super Feather, Sanchez started at Feather. Sanchez became champ '80, while JCC didn't capture a title until '84. By that time sadly Sanchez had already passed.

If ever sanchez and jcc would of fought prime vs prime, I'll favor jcc a bit but its a toss up really. Then again we never saw sanchez improve pass his mid 20's. Imagine if sanchez had moved up in weights, I could imagine by thirty sanchez could of been a welterweight possibly an all time great welterweight. Shyt thats scary.

I wouldn't because Sanchez was good counter puncher and fought very well on outside the kind of style that would beat Chavez.

no way lyle, nothing can make em-mab fights look bad. some can be better but it wouldn't make em vs mab look doll.

Actually the best Mexican fighter of them all was Ricardo Lopez , fought at the top for many years , has power - speed- good chin - could fight on the inside- outside - could counter , pretty much the complete fighter , retired unbeaten also with 1 draw.
