Default I can't wait to see PBF step into that ring.

When he is outside the ring I find Floyd amusing... to a degree. Its funny seeing a guy act brash, and making a fool of themselves on camera, I don't mind it usually. However, Mayweather has not grown up and its starting to get tiring watching his antics leading up to the fight, its like wwf. The thing that makes Floyd my favorite fighter though is when he steps into the ring he's as real as anyone else. All his pseudo confidence, fast talking, in your face attitude is gone, and he's the most concentrated, dedicated and gifted man in the sport. His style is almost an antithesis of his attitude outside the ring, He is calculated and precise in his offense, and he is patient and eluding in his defense. Floyd shows real confidence in the ring that he never does outside of it. It always amazes me the transition because the guys I know who are like him personality wise usually don't truly get into a fight unless they have 12 guys fighting one guy with them. I don't think Hatton is going to get curbed stomped because he is too good for that, but Mayweather will beat him in what could be a really good fight.

Great post, CC. I find Floyd almost unbearable in a build-up to a fight, but a consumate professional once he's in there. No goofing around, showboating, just precision skills and an awareness and focus of everything going on. It's almost like 2 personalities splitting from outside the ring to the moment he steps in it. And to his credit, as disrespectful as he is before a fight, he almost seems humble and respectful to his opponents after the fight. Ricky though is all business to once he sets foot in the ring, and has an intensity and desire second to none. He better, cause' he's getting a storm coming his way.

The only part of boxing i care about is what happens in the ring....floyd could rape baby monkeys for all i care. The personal life of athleats don't affect me either way unless it keeps them from performing. I don't want to be pen pals with these guys i just want to see them fight so a chance to see the best in the sport always gets fight fans excited.

It's just an act outside the ring. He's selling tickets, not being himself. If you look at his behaviour on Dancing with the Stars he was different again on that show, polite, well mannered etc. -- everything with Floyd is calculated to push the buttons of whatever audience he's in front of. You're not going to see the real Floyd till after he's retired, maybe not even then.

Same with Hatton in his own way.

I agree with that..to an extent. When fights are being hyped with shows like 24/7,you watch it and see what the fighters are like etc. Obviously you form an opinion then.

Also I don't mean disrespect to Hatton fans, I think he is a great fighter, I truly do, and I think he is one of the two fighters I see giving Mayweather his toughest challenge along with Cory Spinks(due to his height and speed). Mosley also hasn't shown me he is good enough to fight on the outside to really compete with Mayweather. Hatton however has that pressure that nobody else applies, and I think it will be his down fall against Mayweather like it almost was against Collazo, but we'll see. If he uses enough patience(holding his punches coming in) and head movement Hatton could make something of this, but I still feel Mayweather will adapt because he can fight so many ways.

I still can't get over the fact that this fight has actually come to fruition. I mean this is history in the making no doubt about it regardless of the result. I' ve bagged PBF ever since he skipped over Hatton & Cotto at 140 so now I'm as happy as a pig in S***.

Duran was 29 years old when he wasn't supposed to beat the undefeated Leonard. total 55-0
Hatton is 29 years old and not supposed to beat the undefeated Mayweather. total 81-0

lets not forget Frazier v Ali I total 57-0

Exact same style match up and all of em undefeated.

Great post buddy. This is the main reason why people don't like Floyd. As a person he comes across as a complete arsehole, but as a fighter, he's superb.

I agree as a Mayweather fan myself, i don't really care much for his silly antics outside the ring i know thats just an act to sell tickets. But i love watching him inside the ring when he is at his best, it reminds me of watching Pernell Whitaker when he was at his best. Its just masterful to watch the shoulder roll defense, alot of people who hate on Mayweather, should watch Mayweather at Superfeatherweight he was so exciting at that weight and he had great punching power and amazing reflexes and blinding speed a real treat to watch at that weight even the haters would appreciate. I like watching someone who is leagues ahead of the competition just like Michael Jordan was in Basketball it really is just masterful to watch.

But onto the fight like i said in the other thread Hatton, Need's to use angles on the inside, thats one of Hatton's strong points when Mayweather lays on the ropes he needs to move his head and use angles. I don't think Hatton will be able to just throw a silly amount of punches because he will get picked apart too much he needs to do smart and effective pressure at the same time and try and offset Mayweather's rythm by clinching.

Mayweather needs to use his jab more in this fight, that will make it very hard for Hatton to counter him. He also needs to fight the same gameplan as he did in 2nd Castillo fight. and thats staying off the ropes at all times when Hatton tries to corner him he needs to circle Hatton straight away and get the fight back in the ring, it will be almost impossible for Hatton to win if the fight is mostly at distance and in the middle of the ring.

I see Mayweather having a tough fight but i see him being the clear winner by atleast 4 rounds. Mayweather has fought alot of pressure fighters, so he knows what to expect and he will be prepared better, Hatton has only fought one faster fighter. And that was Collazo and he didn't deal with Collazo's speed to well, and Mayweather is even faster than Collazo so i see Hatton having big time trouble with Mayweather's speed.

    Totally agree here.

But he's a tool outside the mat prior to the bout...hands down, he truly plays the role, & people don't want to face the facts...it does put asses in seats.

Everyone keeps going to see him get his ass kicked & people in the crowds are so eager to see him get his ass kicked that they are as in denial of the fact that it aint gonna happen as most fight fans on the web are.

Never beg a 40 dollar hooker...specially after she's just turned down your mom's credit card!!
