Good point you bring up Dios. I do have pretty high expectations of Floyd, but I don't think it's unreasonable considering..Originally Posted by DIOS DOMINICANO
The first time Hatton moved up to Welterweight it was almost disastrous. He was about 15 seconds away from being knocked out cold by Collazo. Collazo is good and may have been really underrated at the time, but Mosley showed Collazo isn’t THAT good. And then Mosley was handled very well by Cotto, even though he put up a good fight. This puts Cotto far ahead of Collazo (who I feel should have won against Hatton) even though Cotto is just one spot above him in the Ring.
I know I’m putting a lot into Hatton’s performance against Collazo, but it was his only other fight at welterweight. I don’t buy the excuses that Hatton wasn’t in shape or didn’t train for the fight either…that was supposed to be his big “American Invasion” fight
This is why I think PBF should be able to put on a dominant, impressive fight against Hatton. I am not expecting it to be as dominating as Mayweather-Gatti was by any means, but if Floyd wants to call himself the UNDISPUTED p4p champ I think he has got to show some fireworks. If he takes a SD I would still rate him #1, but he would definitely be disputed by some others knocking on the door for that spot.
I can understand playing it safe against Oscar at 154, in that case a win was a win.Originally Posted by wacko3205
But now it's at 147 vs. a guy in Hatton who is ideally a 140 fighter. And like I said above his only other show at 147 wasn't good.
I feel that Hatton is overrated and people have seemed to ignore what he has done (or hasn't) in the past couple years. Defeating Tszyu was an amazing feat, but Tszyu had a few legit reasons he was not at his peak, which is a completely different subject! Still Hatton gave a amazing fight and I think he really peaked that night..but aint seen the same since.
