    1) Calzaghe wins and he's a two-weight world champion.
    2) He wins, then his bout with Hopkins is a clash of two light-heavyweight world champions.
    3) Woods gets to make a lot of money, and if he wins it would significantly boost his flagging career.
    4) A springtime fight would be ideal for Calzaghe time-wise to let him have time to prepare for the summer super-fight.

As for Woods, he did do enough to beat Johnson in their last time out in my opinion, just, and although he's not been in big-name fights since, his IBF belt still carries some kudos, and I think it would have benefits for both fighters.

There's too short a gap between fighting Woods and then Hopkins in the summer (not that Hopkins even wants the fight).

Calzaghe is a twice a year fighter, with his injuries he ALWAYS needs time between fights. And next year is his last.. so he says.

    I actually agree with this! This would be a nice senario...but I can't see B-Hop fighting Calzaghe...coz as I stated before...he is a pussy!!

But I can't help but thinking that Calzaghe would get something out of fighting Dawson before his retirement. IMO Dawson is very talented and young and could go on to be a big player...but if Calzaghe beats him it would look like a grat scalp on his record!!!

As great as Joe is, unless he fights someone of the low calibre of Manfredo (which Clinton definitely is not) I can't see him, with his hands and recent KO record, knocking Clinton out.

So it comes down to who will win on points. I'll want the Yorkshireman to beat the Londoner but I think if Joe takes to light heavy then with his chin and ring skills he should get a close points decision.

But whether it will happen, I'm not convinced though from a recent radio interview i heard Clinton seems to think they'll be a decision by the end of this forthcoming week.

Calzaghe has said on fightnews.com that he won't be fighting Woods and he has turned down an offer from Hopkins.

Well, I'm sure the winner of Jeff Lacy v Peter Manfredo would be available.
