I have the impression that Taylor's confidence isn't on sturdy ground. Not from the Pavlik fight either, although I'm sure that didnt help.
He is always so tense in these big fights and wastes so much energy. That is all mental..and I have seen it ever since I first watched Taylor in the first Hopkins fight. Granted bhop is pretty much always calm and in control, but against guys like Ouma and Spinks Taylor should have appeared to be the "alpha male" in the ring...and he didn't.
I think he is a likable person, and I am glad to see he has been successful. He has good physical attributes , but I don't think he has or ever will have the true mentality of a champion.
So I think if Pavlik knocks Taylor out again, that will be the last we will see of him. But if it is a decision loss I think Taylor will continue to fight...because financially it would make sense and boxing is his livelihood..but I would not expect him to make any big things happen.
