I'm not excited that Ali has Parkinson's (and if we all lived long enough everyone, 100% of us would have it, his was early onset due to the punches he took)

F*** the G-Man...F*** that ref in that fight too, #1 Benn should have been TKO'd #2 If he wasn't McClellan should have been stopped when he couldn't keep his mouthpiece in
to be fair to benn, he got up and he was able to continue...

and in all honesty hindsight is a wonderful thing....noone knew the extent of mclennan's damage and he was still competing relatively well at times....

    And lyle, calm down!

ali's the best theres ever been, what he did transended the sport and made it a mass media event, when he fought frazier the first time it was one of the biggst tv audience viewing in the world

REMEMBER THAT BOXING IS LIKE NO OTHER SPORT AND NO OTHER SHOW BIZZ EVENT AND THE PEOPLE WHO DO IT ARE VERY DIFFERENT TO REGULER PEOPLE, MANY OF THEM HAVE FLAWS WHICH HAD THEY NOT GOT INTO BOXING THEY'D BE DEAD OR IN JAIL.

SO LETS TRY AND REMEMBER OUR BOXING HERO'S FOR WHAT THEY DID IN THE RING AND WHAT THEY DID TO MAKE IT SOMTHING WE ALL LOVE DOING AND WATCHING AND LEAVE THE ILL FELLING FOR FALLEN HERO'S IN THE TRASH BINS

    THANKS

OK if you like people getting killed or damaged in the ring then let your refs call it that way. McClellan, Watson.....what will it take? The homecooking in England is FAAAAAAR different than most places over here...we do have inexperienced refs around here too.

McClellan was so hurt he couldn't hold his mouthpiece in correctly, he does that for roundS..plural! It's more than enough of a sign

Don't lie to yourself bull. Boxing way popular before Ali was champ...maybe more so. Ali brought trash talking and a braggadocio which rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. Boxing WAS a gentleman's sport before Ali came to town.

no i hate seeing fighters get seriosly hurt so were you got that idea i don't no

yes the fight could have been stopped earlyer and maybe McClellan wouldn't have been hurt as much

I seriously do think the ref was negligent in this case and I think of it alongside Benny Paret's death as something that never should have happened.

It's a miracle Benn wasn't seriously damaged as well, we all remember him totally defenseless and slumping backwards out of the ring and this is the point at which I would have called the fight.

i think the corner team should have spoted something was wrong when he couldn't keep the sheild in, towards the end he started blinking heavyly at which they should have seen that and maybe called it.

BUT ITS EASY TO SAY ALL OF THIS AFTER THE FIGHT, AT THAT MOMENT IN TIME WHO KNOWS HOW ANYONE WOULD REACT

I'm not educated on this subject at all, could you guys be more specific about what you're talking about? I never seen the fight and don't know the story, so this all seems very unclear, other than the fact dogfighting should carry a 30 to life sentence.

EXACTLY! Better to have a JCC-Taylor than a Griffith-Paret III fight

I love boxing however i totaly agree with your statement, animals are totaly at our mercy in every which way us humans can protest with our voice boxing is a sport where two people agree to enter the ring its there choice . Dog fighting or any kind of animal fighting is babaric and they do not have a choice

Mclellan was just basically a nasty nasty man. Nothing more to it than that.

In my view lady Karma took it into her hands to even things up.

If you read the Kevin Mitchell article in the Observer he states that Gerald McClellan was an 'average sinner.' I think he has a point.
