Not really. Ali at his absolute prime was as good a boxer and athlete the sport has ever seen. And to think he was a heavyweight...mind boggling really. No question Floyd possesses great skills and defense...but he will never...not now...not after he retires be mentioned in the same class as an Ali or Robinson. He probably wont even crack the top ten all time greatest list. Floyd only wishes he can talk himself into the top spot as the ATG.
Ali did most things wrong, where as Mayweather is one of the best technically skilled fighters out there Mayweather beats Ali in skills by a landslide.

The same class as Ali ?? Ali wouldn't even be in top 10 if he wouldn't of got lucky decisions against Norton, Shavers, Young,
Ice, you normally have logical posts and responses...but that has to be one of the dumbest things i have ever read on this board.
No it isn't im saying *if* he lost those fights and imo he did and alot of people will agree.

You can make an arguement that he was lucky in atleast 7 of his fights.

I think a lot of Ali's greatness comes from the times he fought and the politics going on and his commitment to bettering the world with his fame... If you read into his whole story and what things meant at certain times, and that he was still able to prevail and be a great boxer,,, I think that has added a lot of people's perceptions of his performances.... Whether that's a good or bad thing... You are not competely wrong in your opinions as there were things outside the ring that added to Ali's greatness..

That being said though, I also think if Floyd was any sort of human being worthy of having the word 'great' put in the same sentence as his name,,, then it may be a different story...... But he chooses to keep this bad attitude 'fuk you all coz I have money'... No one is a fan of that sort of sh!t!!! Ali was the people's champ.... Floyd is his own champ..... The sad thing is, FLoyd had the skills and talent to win the entire world over!!!!!! instead he wanted to spend his entire career braggin and acting like a spoilt brat...... and people remember that sort of sh!t when they think of greatness....
