he fought middleweight jermain taylor and middleweight RJJ and for some reason those fights went a little different....

DLH was a MW champ.
Tito destroyed Joppy a good MW in the fight before Hopkins, and was actually favourite before the fight.
Wright was top 5 P4P when Hopkins fought him and would beat almost anyone at 170.
Hopkins came up from 160 to beat the number 1 guy at 175 in Tarver, he was the underdog in that fight also.

Calzaghe would most probably beat Hopkins at this point in time, but BHOP has the better legacy and that cannot be denied.
