I guess I'm struggling with the "avoidance of many 147ers" statement. There's a bit of revisioninst history here.

Floyd moved up to 147 twelve months ago. He took Sharmba (a speedy southpaw) to prepare for Judah (a speedy southpaw). At the time, Judah was the legitimate and linear undisputed WW champion, right?

Judah unexpectedly lost. Floyd offered the April 8th date to Hatton and Margarito. They both turned it down. So Floyd went ahead and fought a VERY ready Judah. A fight many picked him to lose. Soundly beat Judah.

Floyd then needed an opponent for his November HBO PPV date. He offered the fight to Mosley. Shane declined on national TV saying "er, my tooth...um, I'm going on vacation". So Floyd fought the guy who had just beat Judah and KO'd Gatti. The new linear WW champion for the real title.

Then the Oscar fight surfaced and Floyd had the opportunity to become a household name and make $30 million dollars. I realize that some people criticize this decision. But ask yourself what YOU would do: go fight Margarito or Clottey for $5-8 million...or Oscar for $30 million?

Please remember that Cotto has been a WW for a mere eleven months. And Floyd is now fighting Hatton...who many on this board are picking to beat him.

How is this unacceptable?
