Why should Calzaghe have the privilege

of fighting all his professional fights in Great Britain? Why can't he come over to the USA to fight Hopkins? Isn't Hopkins the more accomplished of the two?

Honestly...it's no different than Hopkins never fighting outside the U.S. & it's really a ridiculous double standard.

Right now...I honestly believe that Hopkins needs Calzaghe, now.

Calzaghe, IWHO, deserves to fight where he wants to.

Being a Hopkins fan...all of this might sound odd...but he knows that the offer that they made was for S***.

Calzaghe's got the record for his unbeaten stretch hanging in the balance, he's topped Hopkins former record breaker, & he's gaining in popularity now with fan & the media. In the end...Hopkins always proves to be a pain in the a** to deal with...he'll ruin the possibilities of the fight happpening. No S***...I'm honestly debating the noon that Hopkins might even be "sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeered" of ole' Joespeh

It comes down to this. Joe can stay in the UK if he likes. Your correct he should do what he wants. But if he dont get the big fights that really cap off his legacy then thats his fault.
Hopkin's legacy is more secure than Joes, maybe not a lot more, but BHOP has the better names on his resume than Joe. Joe really needs the Hopkins fight more than the nard does, he is gonna be 44 for fuck sake!
I think Joe could really cap off his career by calling Hopkins bluff, taking the smaller purse flying to the good ol' US of A and beat BHOP. That would be impressive stuff and prove all his detractors wrong. Cos if he never goes to the US he will always have those detractors whether he deserves it or not.

Just to clear it up the World Series of Baseball was named after a New York newspaper. As for Calzaghe fighting in the US, I have to agree that this idea that it is acceptable for US based fighters to discredit foreign opponents for not fighting there is a joke.
