In this fight one really cannot afford to judge with any personal feelings in mind as both men have their own fans and detractors as a result of both personalities and styles.
Witter is a good boxer, who this year has made huge advances and proved that he is a lot greater than the fighter intimidated into defeat by Zab Judah a few short years ago. His "fencing" style may not please everybody and switch hitting is not poular among purists but coupled with an increase in Junior's power he has had some very fine performances with his finest being the KO of Vivian Harris recently. I think Junior epitomizes the neccesity to be impartial and seperate yourself from your own tastes and feelings, you may not like his style, you may not like his approach to the opponenet, but he has earned the respect of many.

Paulie (although undoubtedly more popular,) is in a similar situation. Since the loss to Cotto he has rebounded and in my view improved. I believe he does realise his shortcomings (lack of power) and as a result he is attempting to concentrate on his blessings, namely speed and movement. Again, this may draw disapproval from a certain contingent iof Fight fans, yet it is clear he deserves to be respected after his win over the tough N'dou. The impending rematch should demonstrate Paulie's improvement again, as Paulie enters the ring against a fighter he has already figured out and in my personal opinion thoroughly outboxed.

So in a matchup who do i go for?
Witter has a considerable edge in power, and his movement certainly rivals Malignaggi's. However we have seen Malignaggi survive against some vicious punishment against Miguel Cotto so perhaps Witter's power will be irrelevant.
Malignaggi will have the comfort of knowing he has been in with a better class of opposition (particularily in light of Cott's Ko win over Judah,) and furthermore he may have the advantage in terms of combonation punching...Witter to counteract this will have the psychological edge in term's of trainer's expierience and physical size...

So in a reasonably close yet unanimous decision I pick Junior Witter (despite the fact that i prefer Paulie.) Should Paulie habvve what it takes to reverse my pick i would be greatly impressed and indeed pleased, but for me, at the moment Junior seems to be the fighter with the momentum and intent, on the up and up.

This fight will be better than people expect you got Paulie the fast combination puncher and Witter the awkward fast puncher should be a good match up.

It will indeed provide us with an interesting clash of styles, I searched my brain attempting to find a fight of similar qualities....I found it difficult to think of a fight to compare but here are a couple i feel slightly reflect a parallel clash of styles.

Obviously the prince came to mind..(prince Naseem Hamed vs. Kevin Kelley!?)
Following that i thought of McCallum vs. Norris....
So we could be in for a treat

    I understand mate believe me!

But if Witter had a little more charisma he would appeal a lot more, perhaps not as much as Naseem as Witter doesn't have the explosive power Naseem had, nor the incredible Rhythm, but in my mind he would have been similar.

To be fair, Ingle did/has done a great job with both. With Naz, he knew how to utilise his skills. That breakup lead to Naz's downfall in the end.

The Ingles do like their switch hitters though. Andrew Facey is another awkward one. He gave Jamie Moore hell a few weeks ago.

Thats true, they seem to Breed awkward fighters. I feel that their fighters benefit greatly from Brendans rule in sparring (no punches to the head.) This seems to instill a great respect for movement, economy of punches and defense into their fighters.

I do notice though that all three of those fighters we've covered completely neglect to defend at all at times. So while can benefit, I'd argue it can hinder the fighter as well.

Well he was essential viewing wasn't he. I was jealous of him being so good when i was a kid, but i style copied his style and tried to implement his moves. He was a great boxer, but unfortunately he himself did not realise his reliance on Brendan. Brendan did tho.

D-Hop. He’s Nard’s nephew, so as a result that makes him a legend and therefore the world should have to travel to his hometown to fight him.
You think he draws more than Witter or Malignaggi?
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
