    3. Try to avoid bad cuts , as Floyds accurate shots could cut Ricky to ribbons.
    4. Hit the body often and as hard as possible , he has to slow Floyds footspeed down to stand any chance.
    5. He has to gain Floyds respect by hurting him.
    6. The power part will be interesting , Hatton is no 1 punch bomber , but lets not forget , Floyd started as SFW , Hatton is a naturally bigger man , so maybe the power of his body shots may suprise Floyd.
    7. Hatton is famous for his work rate but has struggled at Welter , he must work for 3 mins of every round , punch punch punch , but must use a better defence than he has before.
    8. He must be adaptable if he has a bad round . ie. if he is floored or hurt or cut , he must have plan B and C to carry him through rough patches. ( of which there will be plenty )
    9. If and its a big if , he has Floyd hurt he must keep on top of him , i dont feel Floyd is likely to lose a points fight , unless Hatton is a mile in front.
    10. He must keep his cool when Floyd is trying to toy with him , Hatton hasnt been rattled yet but the fight will bring different senario's , if Floyd hits low then Ricky has to give some back.

All in all Ricky Hatton has a chance to pull of one of, if not the best win by a British fighter.Yes he may be badly beaten , but its kinda a no loose fight for Ricky , as most American fans think he will be beaten , and if he was to win WOW the sky is the limit.

please give me your views on this guys im interested to see wot the English and American fans and any other for that matter think

He had better use his arms

    1. Ricky must turn to find holes in Floyd's defense

    2. Be brutal and be rough with Floyd....foul him a couple times(unintentionally of course...I suggest headbutts and kidney punches.....stuff easy to hide but effective, the kidney shots will also open up the defense as Floyd would in theory stand more square after being hit to the kidneys repeatedly) if need be it'll take Floyd and his corner out of his game

    3. Ricky had better not load up on his shots...put together good quick combos and tie Floyd up

    4. Don't react to Floyd's nonsense

    5. If Floyd is in a corner or on the ropes keep him there.

    6. This might well be out of Ricky's character but if you're winning feel free to gloat

Of course Floyd should stick and move and mix in some standing toe to toe to humiliate Ricky and of course be obnoxious as always.

I feel Roberto Duran would have just destroyed Floyd

The way to 'possible' victory for Hatton is to fight on the inside, the only way a short opponent can have, even a semblance of advantage against a taller opponent. Easier said than done, but this is how Juarez 'beat' Barrera on their first fight, and the way old Quartey tried against Winksy. Yup, Winky did beat him almost all rounds but if you watch carefully, they were hard fought rounds. Quartey tried to swarm him on the inside and Winky did manage to get out and counter most of the time, but Ike did pester him many times and Winky did seem to get flustered by them. But dont forget, we're talking here of an old man way past his prime and naturally much smaller than his opponent.

So the key IMO, is to go and go inside, stay there as long as he can, and pester and pester Floyd continuously with those short, quick hooks and uppers, ocassionally digging the body, and just hope to pile enough points to wi....., geeze I can't spit it out. Of course Floyd will naturally try to get out and counter, but Hatton should just keep coming and coming inside and try to frustrate him, and hope somehow judges will show some sympathy and give him a hair-thin win. Sorry about the 'sympathy' part, just can't think of any other way. But who knows, right? In boxing, anything can happen.
Once in awhile, get outside in fresh air, take a deep breath & with a deep sigh, let out all the things that's bottled up inside you & be free, & you'll get a glimpse of nirvana.

A couple of hard shots to Floyd's nuts early would definitely help Hatton's chances. One point deduction won't mean much.

    Wouldn't surprise me.

Its probably been said, but,he's got to cut off the ring,as simple as that

If Floyd is pressured to much or hurt he's going to want to do a disapeering act,Ricky has to be there to greet him when he tries to run.
Mind, thats if Ricky can hurt him

    True Ice.

Also TM Said cut off the ring. When doing that he MUST press mayweather to prevent him spinning off and finding open ring again, hitting all the while as Mayweather will counter with severity.

His best bet is to get himself disqualified early and then he can fool himself with tales of what might have been.

Like that guy that fought Judah awhile back.
