Guess its what you look for in a fight. But Raheem beat Freitas. And he beat him clearly.

If shoulder charging your opponent into the ropes OR falling on your ass repeatedly constitutes winning... then yes, Rahim won.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

If boxing was a decathlon, Then Raheem won. That guy ran from round one and was scared to get hit. I'm happy Frietas ended his John Ruiz impersonator reward.

Agreed. But like Ruiz, I don't think it's over.

With Maxie Kellerman comparing him to Winky Wright and saying he won with confidence, with HBO loving the word "Raheem," and HBO investing in that Oprah Background check... I think we'll see Raheem more than twice on HBO.

Hmmm.... maybe HBO is jealous of Showtime's dominance with Castillo Corrales controlling 135lbs. They wanted "A new hope," such as Raheem, that was contracted by them, so that they can have an UP on Showtimes' recent success at 135lbs. Not the first time HBO is jealous of Showtime's glamour divisions. And if anybody had a chance to beat Corrales or Castillo, it'd be a boxer like Raheem. Not Acelino, who failed against Corrales.

    I figured it out!

Why HBO was in love with Raheem all night.

Freitas didn't win that fight. Neither fighter won that fight. I was more impressed that Raheem could take Freitas' shot and that Raheem actually outlanded Freitas that surprised me the most. Thought Raheem didn't look that bad, then again Freitas didn't look that good. If I picked a fighter to see again I'd pick Zman, because Frietas whines too damn much. Next thing you know he's going to complain to a ref because the other guy punched him.

Just like Tony fans love Margarito. I was more frustrated with Freitas' holding, since he initiated most of it by holding Zahirs head down to the point where Raheem threw Freitas down when he had Acelino hurt. I'd rather see Raheem then Freitas again tbh. I cba with Freitas atm.

Yes I thought a draw was a proper result too. It was a terribly sloppy fight with a lot of holding and awkward incidents. Rahim did more holding than Freitas but not by much. Neither man really wanted to fight in close. I saw very few clean shots landed and in such cases it seems that neither man really did enough to win. Freitas kept going for the big right hand but he landed maybe 10 out of 100 or something ridiculous like that. Rahim didn't land much either. It was frustrating to watch.

I thought it was going to be really nice to have a fight night without out Larry's and Lamprey's marketing schemes but it looks like little Max has a sold and seared concience as well. He just needs more training before he is as suttle as Jim.
Raheem was probably being built up for a big PPV with Castillo Whom is too much for him right now anyway. I like Raheem and enjoy watching him fight but Max and Compubox were definately rigged tonight--good thing the ref and judges weren't.

I had the fight a draw. I was disappointed in the awkwardness of the action in the ring, and felt that neither fighter showed enough dominance to get a victory.

Raheem is a much nicer guy than Ruiz. Also, Raheem's clinching against Freitas didn't seem to do him any good at all except make the fight ugly and boring. Ruiz's clinching is sort of a weird art form that frustrates a lot of his opponents and infuriates a lot of boxing fans such as myself, but is sort of effective. I don't see what good Raheem's clinching does for him. He's a good athlete, has decent speed and accuracy and counterpunching skills, so it would make more sense for him to fight a bit on the inside. Wilfred Benitez was a counterpuncher who was a genius on the inside, so it's quite possible to mix counterpunching and inside fighting. Floyd Mayweather Jr. is now an outstanding inside fighter but he wasn't always that way. He learned how to do it and has earned my respect.

In any case I wasn't impressed with Freitas either, who didn't land 1 combination the whole fight. He occasionally landed a right hand lunging in from the outside but none of them seemed to hurt Raheem and most of them missed the target. Even if Freitas landed a shot he often willingly went into a clinch. He held almost as much as Raheem did. Now it's clear to me that Freitas isn't really much of an inside fighter, and his destruction at the hands of Corrales was not a fluke, the result of Corrales finally catching Freitas and landing a killing combination on the inside.

I slightly prefer Freitas' style over that of Raheem but both men probably lost more boxing fans than they gained from the fight. Most boxing fans that I know would much rather see clean boxing than wrestling and clinching and I'm 1 of them.

i thought Freitas won and clearly, Raheem did nothing more than run, grab, tackle, and stare, he "outlanded" Freitas mainly cause he was throwing pitter patter shots, Popo landed the harder more effective shots and managed to hurt Raheem a few times, hell on a few occasions Raheem was so desperate to hold that he would even pull Freitas' arm and pin it down lol, i mean i have nothing against clinching if it's done the way that W. Klitschko used it against Peter and Byrd, in an effective, strategic, quick way, not just holding to waste time so that you can try to steal the round with a extremely shitty flurry and then still not win the round anyway, simply put Freitas wins the WBO title 116-112 on my card
