Default What Will Oscar Do Now?

Personally, I don't think Oscar really fits into the current boxing scene. He holds no belts and fights once a year. Still, he is a huge draw and still gets the fights. After seeing Hatton fight at Welterweight twice now, it is clear that he is not as effective at that weight and a fight with Oscar is pretty pointless imo. Cotto seems to be left in the cold with Mayweather talking retirement ad Hatton out likely out of the Welterweight picture, but Cotto-DeLaHoya would be another loss on Oscars record that he doesn't need. So whats next for the Golden Boy.

CC,your first line was the best. I don't think Oscar fits into the scene. He's the cash whore, people want to fight him but only for $$,he brings nothing else. And if he fights Hatton,he's a piece of shit imo. If he is going to hang around, give us exciting fights with legit WW. The Floyd fight proved Hatton has no business at 147. If Oscar is going to fight, let him fight a strong WW.He said he wants a toe to toe war,Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito would give that to him in spades.

Oscar wanted to fight Hatton in Wembly stadium if Hatton one or performed good in a loss. The question is: Did Hatton perform well? I think he did, and he will probably earn another huge payday with Oscar. Otherwise, the other obvious choice is Cotto.

I believe Cotto or Margarito may be in De La Hoya's way soon. I remember De La Hoya saying that he would like to fight in Mexico, and Margarito may fit for that scene. Cotto will also give De La Hoya the kind of fight he is looking for, and I really think Cotto can KO De La Hoya.

Other probability I see for De La Hoya and may be little farther is Tito. After all they had been discussing about the rematch for years and now Tito is back. It all depends on the kind of performance that Tito has against RJJ, and the weight. And, weight I believe is the biggest gap for this fight.

I don't really see a Tito fight ever reocurring. Heck,if he loses to RJJ,he'll probably retire again. Oscar wants to come down to 147 and engage in 2 toe to toe wars. Even though it would be a pussy move,I can see him persuading Hatton to stay at WW and fight. The lure of the $$$ will be too much. As for his other fight,I think he'll go for Cotto. Hey,if you're a guy with stamina problems and gas after something which has been labelled a glorified sparring session with Floyd, you don't want to be fighting a monstrous WW with huge stamina like Margarito even thought that fight would be big in the Mexican community.

Oscar should step aside and let events at 147 unfold without him. Him stepping in the picture only delays any of the intriguing matchups that can be made at welterweight that we all want to see. I personally think people are getting sick and tired of this guy losing.

Heres an interview Oscar did Friday for the boxing show Solo Boxeo.

Reporter: OK, tell us right now will we be seeing you again in the ring?

Oscar: Yes, yes you will 2 and if all goes well 3 more times.

    R: Really?

    O: Yes.

R: Do you have any opponents in mind?

O: Yes, the winner of tommrrows fight between Hatton & Mayweather and also Miguel Cotto.

R: What if Mayweather wins, Well then theres Cotto.

R: Alright, well thank you for your time and gives us your prediction for tommorrow.

O: Were hoping that Hatton wins.
