I dont take it seriously. He will be back. If the money is right then "Money May" will be back in the fray.

I would love to see him against Cotto or Williams.

As Mayweather fan i have to be honest, Williams would be horrible stylistic match up for Mayweather i could see Williams beating Mayweather he needs to avoid that fight at all cost's.

If hes not going to fight Cotto, Margarito, or Williams he should retire. I have a suspicion that he may now want to fight Mosley because Mosley showed signs of slowing down vs. Cotto and that would be a winnable fight for PBF at this point. As of now, Cotto is the fight to make happen.

u are a joke sweet pea

williams was getting beaten up by a brawler like maragrito at the end of their fight....williams is the most overrated fighter around as big as he is he has no power----remmeber that little journeyman dude he was punding on for like 8 rounds and couldnt put away? floyed would toy with him and slap him silly---his punches are too long---hed never lay a glove on pbf

The only joke here is you remember this ??

1 gatti (after he beats pbf he trumps zoo who only has to whip lil ricky boy)--greatest warrior in history of boxing finally gets a chance to shine--would faltten hatton inside 5 rds

2 zoo --- gatti-zoo by the end of the year would be an awesome war --to settle it all at 140--should finish hatton quick in match coming up---my prediction is rd 2

3 pbf--should prob look at 147 pd judah or back down to 135 to face diego again--which may be a totally differnet fight this time around--it would be funny to see pbf get ktfo by gatti then move down and get ktfo by diego---would embarass ricky hatton worse then winky did tito and prob knock hatton tfo

4 viv harris--big underrated------dangerous guy nobody seems to want--apparently he was to young and viable for ricky hatton--would kayo ricky if ricky didint duck him

5 cotto---big for division good fighter--but very beatable as corley let us know--would kayo hatton in 1 rd though--too big strong and athletic--ricky would never go near him

6 witter--another guy like harris nobody wants to fight--another guy ricky hatton ducked --would blister ricky and knock him out

7 corley---give this guy some credit---close split loss against judah, rocked pbf and shook him while going the distance, and roughed up cotto a bit before a very premature stoppage prevented us from finding out if he could have upset cotto--this guy is tough and i think corley would beat hatton via close decision--lack of power keeps ricky in game

8 sharmba mitchell---looked pedestrian against zoo but good give alot of guys a tussle--still 3 yrs away from being an opponent for ricky hatton--hed box his ears off still at this point

9 lovemore ndou--tough vet who will give anyone a tussle ---alot like corley---not washed up enough for ricky--probably win a close decision against ricky

10 oktay urkal-gave harris a tough fight and is solid--another guy who would probably beat ricky hatton of course hes 35 so hes almost ripe for a hatton encounter--id give ricky a 50-50 shot in this one--but rememebr thi guy is underrated and tough--lost close md to harris and went the distance with zoo--which is 10 rds longer then ricky is gonna last

Thats one of the main reasons I want to see it. No boxing fan could ask for more than the great Floyd try to figure that one out! Ilike Williams chances but Im sure as hell not gonna bet against Floyd.

He seems to find a way through anyone.

I didn't know PBF had retired?
    All he said was:
"I wont let boxing retire me, I'll retire from boxing" - PBF

Which to me just leaves it up in the air... I did however hear him say he was taking a vacation from the sport which is different from saying I'm retiring.....

He'll probably wait a year till Cotto or Williams (My money is on Cotto) cleans out the division. Then take on whoever is left standing and claim WW and P4P supremacy.

I agree with sweet pea. Williams is all wrong for Floyd. But I also think Williams can be beat by any of the strong 147lbers like Cotto or Cintron or even Margarito in a rematch. But none of those guys would beat Floyd. Kinda like a paper-rock-scisors kinda thing.

I do but he will more than likely comeback in 12 to 18 month if Cotto gets through Williams,Cintron,Margerito and De La Hoya Mayweather will comeback and beat him just to prove a point and get some super $ doing it.

Thats exactly what I think will happen. The only question is will the layoff hurt him enough to give Cotto the advantage he needs to win.

Still it is too early to tell. Lets give it a couple of months and see what happends

i really hope he does mean it and focuses his attention on promoting. The man has beaten everything put in front of him and so has absolutly nothing more to prove (even to you mayweather haters). He said 'i will retire from the sport of boxing, boxing will not retire me'. Unlike so many boxers before him i hope he means it
