    Good to hear.

My shin splints turned into much less of a bother after using better footwear for running and losing a lot of weight after boxing for a while.

Back to the gym recently after a massive lay off.

I went a couple of times at the end of December but I cant remember what I did so I will leave those out.

    29 and 31 Jan

    4 rounds skipping

    2 rounds shadow boxing

    4 rounds heavybag

    2 rounds double end bag

    5 rounds speedbag

    4 rounds skipping

    6 and 7 th Feb

    4 rounds skipping

    2 rounds shadow boxing

    5 rounds heavybag

    3 rounds double end bag

    2 rounds shadow boxing

    4 rounds skipping

    8th feb

3 rounds skipping. I kept the skipping light today because I could feel a slight twinge in my legs and was worried about getting shin splints again.

    2 rounds shadow boxing

    4 rounds heavybag

    4 rounds double end bag

    2 rounds on the mitts

    1 round heavybag

    1 round double end bag

The speedball has disappeared so no practice on that lately.

My normal trainer wasnt in the gym the other night, and another coach changed my footwork a bit. He refused to let me put my backfoot on the floor at anytime, and he also moved me further from the double end bag in order to improve my technique when throwing straight punches.

My coach also had me trying to slip both sides after throwing straights on the double end bag. Slipping to my left is ok, but I am still a bit stiff and awkward when slipping to my right.

Also, a few days ago. a fighter from another gym came for a sparring session and brought a mini entourage. Him and our fighter absolutely tore into each other, it was an absolute war. All the pros and coaches were bellowing instructions, and the sparring session was intense to say the least.

The lad from the other gym got the best of it (even though he looked about 16 and wore plimsoles) and the session got stopped at the end of the second as our bloke got a cut over his right eye.

Ive seen plenty of sparring sessions between pros on video, whilst I am aware that the camera sanatises it a little, these two lads were going at it much harder than any sparring session I have ever seen.
