i really hope this is true - i really wanna head to new york next spring.

I bet it ends up in Wales. They're not going to leave millions of dollars on the table, especially with two to the pound right now.

No chance Hopkins leaves the States.

Plus he was riled into making racist comments just by Calzaghe turning-up in the same town and a bunch of Hatton nuts getting on his case.. funk knows what he'd do if it was really put on him.

Hopkins started with the white guy stuff even before the weigh-in when they had the initial confrontation in the media centre. I'm guessing it was all pre-arranged anyway though.

I reckon that he's going to look at it like this :

He won't draw more than a couple of thousand fans, so Yankee Stadium is out. MSG will be 80% Calzaghe fans, just like Vegas the other night. It's going to be an effective away fixture for Hopkins anyway, so he might as well go where the money is, plus it gives him a good excuse when he loses.


Does anybody know what he was getting sung at him? I read "Hopkins is a wanker" and "you'll never beat Calzaghe" but I'm sure there were others. Is there any video knocking about on the net?

Normally I'd agree with you that it was staged. But don't think so. Hopkins looked a bit miffed at getting jeered and "disrespected" in his Country.
