Spicoli, I'm interested in knowing where you had seen Azumah prior to the Salvador fight. I don't think I've ever chatted with someone who had seen Azumah prior to that fight. Or are you playing this one by what you saw years later. If you did see Azumah prior to the Salvador fight could you recommend any fights pre-Salvador?
Thanks.
I'm gonna disagree here with some on your list.... So you know the matchups I will list are performances in which the fighters had already looked good in before loosing in the fights you listed.

There is no way Evander looked better on that night then on the night he fought De Leon. For starters he got hit waaaay to much against Bowe against De Leon he was just an animal....

I think this ones the most interesting one. Being that Pernell had looked great since his amateur days. I would also say he looked much better when he beat Santana. Much much better...

This ones a tough one and heres why I think it is....
Mel started off superb I mean JCC just wasn't landing anything meaningful for the 1st half of the bout. But he let himself slip in the second part of the fight. His performance against James was decent but he wasn't wining as impressive as he was against JCC. What I think makes it a slitghlty better performance was that he was able to finish off James. I could def. see tho the JCC fight being a better performance.

The destruction of Pipino IMO was a far better performance for Hearns I think he looked much better in that fight then against SRL. I don't even think Pipino put a glove on him that night.

I gotta disagree here 1st I didn't think he looked better then before in that fight... For starters he looked damn! rusty. Started off waaay to late and just didn't have that intenstity that I had seen before. For this one I'd say that his dominance over Diaz was a much better performance then the Williams one. So IMO Margarito had already looked good before that fight.

No way man... I'm sorry if my post is coming off like this but I just completely disagree with it. I'm not sure if maybe you misread the question on the thread but Ruben had been looking great for years now prior to this bout. There are 2 performances that are head and shoulders above the rest. The 1st one being when he beat Rose for the World Titles and the second when he beat Kanazawa in the rematch. What a brilliant performance that was by Ruben....
Just my opinions here it doesn't make them right but just something to think about... Hey! someone might read my post and will completely disagree with my entire post...
