I had it pretty competitive going into the second half of the fight. The point deduction was absurd but Mayweather did start to pull away toward the end, though Ricky had his moments.

No excuses, but it could all have been so much better for Ricky. Ive rewatched the fight a number of times, and yes, Floyd is that good. But Hatton has fought better than that.

Hatton pressured but showed few glimpses of ANY power or real workrate and by that I mean punches thrown. And little body work whatsoever.

Hatton has been in better condition and I dont just mean physically. The plan was skewed and the efforts suffered.

No excuses, but Hatton will be kicking himself upon rewatching that.

i believe the fight was reasonably competitive for at least 6 rounds, but after that Mayweather pulled away - despite your arrogance, my views are just as valid as yours - its called opinion

I thought Hatton lost the first round actually and won the second, so we are opposite there !

Anyway we all know Mayweather is the best fighter and well done to him, BUT 3 national judges isn't allowed where I'm from, that was al i was saying
No. Your views are not valid. There garbage. Your boy got knocked the F*** out. And your bitching about the judges cards. In a fight he was clearly losing on points. Do like your idol and take the lost like a man.
    "THERE GARBAGE " ? = they are garbage "
TAKE THE LOST ?? LIKE A MAN = " take THE loss like a man"
for someone who is so opinionated your use of the ENGLISH language is pretty poor
But i agree the score cards are not important as the fight ended in a stoppage win for Floyd.
Your boy got knocked the fuck out = Your boy got knocked the fuck out

Pretty good use of the English language if you ask me

The point deduction was bs, I concede, but if I watched it again I'd probably give Mayweather 4 anyway, since he nearly doubled Hatton's connects that round. This was just not a close fight at all.
I rewatched it last night, and I was clearly way drunker than I remembered the first time. 4 was actually a very clear Mayweather round. And you could reasonably give Hatton 1, but it was very close; you could have given it to Floyd too. I didn't see a single round that Hatton clearly won. And round 8 could easily have been a 10-8 round for Mayweather. Bottom line, you could probably find 2 rounds to give to Hatton, but there weren't any gimmes, and I don't see any way of giving him more than that.

VD stop being such a dick and fucking show some respect to everybody elses opinions here, cause up to this point, this dude hasn't said shit to disrespect you, second of all i've been saying Mayweather would beat Hatton by TKO since Hatton/Castillo, i thought it was gonna be Lacy/Calzaghe and it honestly wasn't, Hatton did a lot better than i thought he would and made it a very entertaining and competitive fight, the fight was extremely competitive for the first 7 rounds IMO, then Floyd got his distance where he wanted it, and adapted, and he did so beautifully, the way he worked and did surgery on Hatton in those last rounds was amazing, but before that the fight was close, don't let the lopsided dominance of the last 3 rounds let you downplay Hatton's performance

Hatton tried to make the fight competitive. But was he really? I say no. I mean he landed 17% of his punches. And I'm trying to remember punches he even landed flush. Floyd dictated the whole fight. He let Hatton do what he wanted Hatton to do. In reality I think it was one of Hatton poorest performance. But even his performance wouldn't of won him the fight

that's espn's Dan Rafael's score card and it's utter bullshit, same as the official scorecards

i mean Mayweather was taking charge by the time of the stoppage, and i had him slightly ahead, but to say he won all the rounds but like one or two, is garbage, that's why Mayweather will never be respected by casual fans, it's the media's fault more than his own
What do you mean by "casual" fans.. if you mean people who will watch boxing when it's on, and maybe order a big PPV every now and again, then you're wrong. Casual fans don't care about scoring unless it comes down to a decision.. and even then they don't care about the numbers, just who won.

I posted on another thread about this so will say the same thing here. The fight was competitive in terms of action but if you look at the punch stats then I think a score of 88-82 is fair. He is my reasoning with punch stats taken from the BBC website. I have added how I scored the rounds afterwards based on the punchstats only.

    Round 1- PBF 12 landed/ 37 thrown. Hatton 5 landed/ 24 thrown. 10/9 PBF
    Round 2 - PBF 7 landed/ 27 thrown. Hatton 6 landed/ 30 thrown. 10/10
    Round 3 - PBF 11/27. Hatton 7/36. 10/9 PBF
    Round 4 - PBF 15/46. Hatton 6/44. 10/9 PBF
    Round 5- PBF 6/25. Hatton 13/54. 10/9 Hatton
    Round 6- PBF 8/45. Hatton 10/30. 9/9
    Round 7- PBF 12/36. hatton 6/41. 10/9 PBF
    Round 8- PBF 32/55. Hatton- 6/38. 10/8 PBF
    Round 9- PBF 15/31. Hatton 4/44. 10/9 PBF
    Round 10- PBF 9/15. Hatton 2/16

    - Therefore PBF landed 127 of the 344 he threw. Hatton landed 65 of the 357 he threw.

    - PBF outlanded Hatton by 8 rounds to 2 although Hatton threw more in 6 of the 10 rounds.

    - PBF connect percentage 37%. Hatton connect percentage 18%.

The three points above are reflected by a score of 88/82 to PBF.

Finally, after the 6th round and with the point deduction, Billy Graham said to Hatton he was 2 down. After the 6th round in my scoring it is 58/56 to PBF so for me even the Hatton camp are thinking along similar lines in terms of the scoring.

p.s. Did anyone notice David Hayes white socks on SKY? Shocking!

Floyd landed nothing in the first round so the punchstat numbers are bs. he landed maybe 4 shots in the second round. hatton won both rounds. Hatton pressed the action and floyd landed hardly anything.
