There needs a lot of work on his defense before this fight is even though of. Shane Mosley is fast but Shane is past his best. A lot of people are using the fact Cotto beat Mosley as a measuring stick on how he would deal with Floyd's speed, except it is not just the speed that is a factor. Pinpoint accuracy is one of the biggest weapons in Weather's arsenal.
I would put Miguel as the best welterweight in the division right now behind Floyd Mayweather just not in Floyds league quite yet. I am a big supporter of Cotto and I would hate to see him have a setback before he is ready

I agree that's why I've said I don't want to see this fight in 2008. But it's certainly the biggest potential rivalry in boxing. Let it build and in 09 it will be massive.
How can it possibly build up with floyd sitting on his a**? I don't want to hear that Cotto beat him because he had a year or 2 layoff.
They are both coming off big victories one month apart and and there is no better time to start negotiations. If it doesn't happen it's because floyd is ducking, plain and simple.
I thought you guys were boxing fans. What difference does it make to you if it builds up to more money for them later? You're not gonna see a dime of that.
We're the ones paying for the PPV so we should be the ones demanding for our faves to fight the biggest possible fights to remove all doubt about who's the best.
It seems like the floyd fans in here are scared to see their guy take chances. I'm a fan of Cotto and would want and expect nothing less than him fighting the best out there to show what he's made of.
