haha good one, it's great how Ricky is bringing obscure terminologies to the masses. Just like David Beckham and Wayne Rooney introduced the general public to the metacarpal bone so Ricky Hatton has introduced the boxing ring's turnbuckle into popular usage.Originally Posted by LEGION
Come to think about it, Ricky didn't run into a turnbuckle did he? Isn't the turnbuckle just a metal connector that connects eyelets to each other or something? Either way, Ricky ran into somethingOriginally Posted by Bilbo

Not really saying he's a runner, but he uses his feet to potshot. He's not a pocket fighter. That's ridiculous and if he tries to stay "right there in the pocket" with Hatton, do you really give him a chance? He's not that slick either...Originally Posted by killersheep
Apparently I saw a different Cotto-Malinaggi than everyone else. He put up a game effort in taking a helluva ass whipping but that's about it. He won 2 or 3 rounds and never came close to hurting Cotto so I fail to see how it was a tough fight, let alone "one of the toughest" of Cotto's career. He made Cotto work for it and that's to his credit but when Cotto worked he beat the hell out of Malignaggi. One of the above posters seems to think his getting dropped and busted up made the fight tougher on Cotto.![]()
Indeed you did, Malignaggi had a horrible start and was way behind after 4 rounds. However he rallied to practically level the fight by the 10th round on the official cards and on the cards of most educated fight fans. Cotto had to dig deep to pull it out down the stretch.Originally Posted by Terp
Without such a bad start who knows how Paulie might have done. Certainly without the knockdown in round two he would have got a draw on one judges card and lost by a round I think on the two others.
Paulie is very fast and hatton has speed too, both are skilled except Paulie is a welterweight and would have to go down to fight in order for it to be competitive
Look PM is a very slick boxer and thet willl give RH alot of problems. I would not write off PM beating RH and if he does he will get credit and i would favor him over Witter go PM give america some wins.
I have to agree with you on this one. But I do not care to see. read or hear anymore about this over hyped fighter. Malignaggi is right about his ridiculous style but may lack the guns to back it up. I would rather see Ricardo Torres bury him and all the hype once and for all.Originally Posted by hitmandonny
I would love to see this fight happen. Ricky has the experience with a slick fast boxer in PBF and PM has the experience with Cotto. Thinking they both learn their lessons. It would be a very fun fight since both have heart.

LOL, I actually like Paulie, but the fight wasn't close, no matter what you or the judges say. You seem like a nice guy but you don't know much. This board is the equivalent of a college political forum. I respect your passion and love for the subject matter but you're casual fans with little actual knowledge or experience who see what you want from fighters you like, who just happen to be sloppy white guys. And with that, I leave you.
Paulie is IBF LIGHT Welterweight champion?Originally Posted by NorthSideX4
He beat Ngodgu for it after Hatton vacated to fight Castillo. They rematch in February.
