I'm fairly certain many of you either saw or read the interview where Graham referred to Floyd's "girl hands" and his fine bone structure. Ricky himself consistently asserted that Floyd couldn't hold him off and that if they fought inside, "Floyd would be eaten".
Subsequent to the fight, Graham said "I always said that he wasn't a welterweight. We were moving up in weight."
If you are bigger than your opponent, what is the significance of the weight limit? The fight could have been at the 168 limit or heavyweight. Ricky is the bigger man. Floyd has never been a legitimate WW; he merely toils there for the bigger paydays.
Those inconsistencies from Hatton and Graham are troubling. And may be perceived by some as "an excuse".
