That Green's management would agree to put him in with Calzaghe without facing even one contender, or even a fringe contender is just bizarre.

Anything can happen in a fight, although he's gotta be a very clear underdog, but its still a strange move.

Jury's still out for me as it seems a very strange move IMO

Boxrec has a bit of a reputation for jumping the gun of these things. I would take this with a big pinch of salt, until we find out on via Sports Network.

I dunno and we thought Manfredo was bad.

Anybody even ever heard of this boy?

At least his record looks good but I'm guessing he's going to be like a Thomas Daamgaard, ie, padded record and will be exposed.

Wow! We though Jones was not a good enough matchup, Manfredo was a a mismatch, this just kinda sucks

This should be another white wash for Joe. Green will keep it closer than the Lacy/Calzaghe fight, by that I mean he may win a round or two.

COME ON JOE!!!! GET A REAL OPPONENT!!! FIGHT SOMEBODY THAT IS UP TO THE CHALLENGE!!!!

If that person is not at 168 then move up and find them. Everybody knows he is the man at 168, why is he bothering to fight people like this. No offense to Green, but he is not there yet.

This is just disappointing. After the Lacy fight I am expecting better things from him.

At the end of the day if it is Green; Calzaghe is making top money, for minimum risk. Everyone is a winner, no one wants Calzaghe's home comming to fall flat because of a tough fight.

The fans at the Millennium Stadium, will not care if Joe wins 60 seconds, indeed they will love it.

I know, but as a fight fan I would rather see him go against somebody that matters. It is kind of like after J. Taylor beat B-hop the second time and was talking of taking a easy opponent for a home coming fight and everybody was against it. Same thing here, Joe has shown he is on another level. So prove it again against a good opponent.

But isn't fighting an unbeaten figther who is little known a big potential risk?

I mean sure Calzaghe will probably kick his a** but Green may just turn out to be a world beater, just he's an unknown quantity right now.

At least a fighting against a known opponent you are aware of what you are coming up against.

Didnt green barely survive his last fight against a journey man ?

I agree it is a dangerous fight in that Green can whack but maybe seen as a soft touch after his last fight, Joe may get complacent but I cant see it.

This should have been a marquee fight, a name, even manfredo was a name.

Joe says he doesnt know how much longer he can box because of injurys but he also says he cant make super middle for much longer.

Then why the hell waste 2 or 3 months training fro a fight that means nothing rather than chasing a legacy by fighting Beyer, Kessler, Jones, johnson or woods.

He has the winners of Taylor v Wright and Tarver v Hopkins, calzaghe has gone right back to being frustrating again
