OK, I had just sat down to watch Match of the Day this evening, and there was a match on between Portsmouth and Tottenham. Now, the commentators on the BBC are paid a very good wage, so should at least have a grasp of English and what words mean.

The first sentence was something along the lines of "Portsmouth are looking to revenge their defeat...."

No, they weren't. You can't "revenge" something you idiot, you meant to say "avenge". And now I've missed the last five minutes of highlights and a goal, because I had to type this rant.

It just makes me mad.
