I knew it would happen like that with him ducking him. Mayweather talks shit about everyone. Thats what he does better than boxing. It is funny how he never trashed on Cotto and his style. Cotto is the kind of guy that can make one fight feel like 5 with the unrelenting body attack. He is the kind of guy that when he beats you retirment will cross you mind and not the words rematch. I love these guys in the middle wieghts and in the welter weights. Pavlik and Cotto is the fresh breath that boxing needed. Two guys that dont draw much attention outside the ring with Zab type antics. They just go into the ring and destroy their opponents. What is not to like about that.

Chances are this fight will happen IMO. Which i would LOVE to see.....however PBF has my respect for knocking Hatton out only a couple of weeks back which no matter what anyone says it was impressive and bollocks to all this all he does is runs backwards when he fights. danny has a point guys. floyd is p4p the best in the boxing world, why do we protect a guy that holds the only honorable title left in boxing? we all should critize him for acting like a busniessman other then what he should be a goddarn boxer.

Ok so the majority of experts and industry heavy weights in your profession think you are the best in the world at what you do. You are basically able to name your price. Well now that Floyd doesn't want to fight,all those fights are possible. And I don't understand why you are putting Clottey's name there,Cotto doesn't HAVE to fight him,even though Arum has mentioned it and Cotto deserves credit for that. The only 1 who had the balls to fight Joshua was Tony. I could say the same to you:why don't Floyd/Zab/anyone else in the divison fight Clottey and PW? Works both ways.

The plan is for Cotto to fight in March v Clottey or Cintron and then fight Tony barring any Oscar or Floyd fights.That kind of answers all your questions.

As I've said before, what's going on here is simple... Floyd is playing hard to get. He's not a fool when it comes to business. He knows the longer he drags it out, the longer he makes it seem like he doesn't want the fight, the more money he'll get in the end.

Floyd knows he's not going to make any decisions for at least the next 6-8 weeks, at the absolute minimum. If he spends that time saying, "I want Cotto" he's lowering his price. On the other hand, if he keeps acting like he wants no part of it, he's driving up the price.

If 2008 comes and goes and Mayweather and Cotto don't fight, then everyone should feel free to criticize whoever it was that stood in the way of the fight happening. Floyd would be fair game if he won't step up and fight Cotto. But now isn't the time. We have to let things play out.

I guess you forget that history repeats it self.

Example: People were dying to see Floyd vs Margarito. PBF ducked Tony and left him hanging. Not only did he leave Tony hanging, he also left the fans hanging. He told Margarito that he would fight him and he never did.
Cotto is a much better position than Tony was and look at what Floyd is saying.
I don't see Floyd ever getting in the ring with Miguel Cotto. He is afraid and his @ss kissing, which is something I have never heard him do, pretty much leads me to strongly believe what I believe about Floyd. He is a coward and brazilianbomber you can't argue this but I doubt you can. If you do, then you are in lust with Floyd. Plain and simple.

actually floyd didn't fight margarito, because margarito was then, and is now a fucking overrated bar fighter who hadn't fought or beat anybody and the first real contender he faced other than an injured clottey he lost (williams) and it turned out floyd was right that margarto was just another loud mouth with a small backing the was hoping to see him cash in off all the hard work floyd had put into building his own name....imagine that a bigger man constanty calling out the smaller man...and even with a big fight looming with cotto margarito got his ass whooped by the green williams....

Having said all that, cotto is worthy of a shot at pbf, but it will be on floyd time not his..if he really wants to fight floyd then he should force it, by beating all the other contenders....williams/cintron winner then maybe clottey because i don't consider margarito worthy of a shot at any title seeing as how of all the "beat pbf lotto players" he's the one with the worst resume....
