Cool name Khan. How is the last part read? King or Sing? Is that Thai or Mongol? Cambodian?

It's Mongol...You pronounce the Q...The Qing Dynasty is where my family originated...I think in China they were known as the Manchu....Batukhan was a old family name passed down that was used to honor the Emperor......

When my parents came to the US they changed it to just plain old Khan

Qing (or Chin, depending on your spelling), isn't Mongolian ..... I think? Wasn't the First Emperor called Chin, and I think he was Han Chinese?

Batukhan is a cool name, however - Batu Khan was the grandson of Genghis Khan, the founder of the Golden Horde who invaded Russia, scattered the nobles like confetti and then whose descendants ruled it for ages.

My ancestors came from the southern part of Mongolia....That eventually was ruled by the Qing dynasty at some point in time 17th or 18th century after the Mongol Empire..More or less those who lived in the Northern part of Mongolia were the ones who did not like to accept the Chinese rule...Not Much in Mongolia and the land is pretty much useless...So while the citizens of southern Mongolia still considered themselves Mongolian...they depended on the Chinese and accepted their ruling ...Wasn't until the 1900's Mongolia came under its own government....
If you lived in the south part of Mongolia you depended on the Chinese even after breaking away many people hated the fact that Mongolia formed its own goverment....People were not happy with the communist running of the country...The chinese pretty much left them alone...and could always be depended on

I wuzz the fuzz for about 34 years, now happily retired for almost 4 years. Pulling the pin was one of the best things I ever did. Don't get me wrong, I'm still interested in crime, law enforcement, etc. Am going to school to get my masters so I can teach somewhere.
