99% of the people in the US had absolutely no clue who Ricky Hatton was before this fight. In the US, Mayweather's presence was a much bigger factor in the PPV numbers than Hatton's. People in the US knew Mayweather from the Oscar fight and from Dancing with the Stars.

Are you really suggesting that British ex-pats had more than a negligible impact on the PPV numbers? Give me a break. You need to take "Hatton's popularity" out of the equation when you talk about U.S. PPV buys. Mayweather vs. anyone would do better U.S. PPV numbers than Hatton vs. that same fighter. You can't possibly believe otherwise. You better believe Hatton vs. ODH wouldn't do 2.4 mill.
