    Default Steve Molitor

Downloaded some of this guys fights today.

What do people think of him? I think its Bilbo that's so high on him.

He seems pretty good. Seems skilled, smart, pretty talented. Not sure he's a great fighter, seems pretty good though.

How does he match up with Rafa, Vazquez, Ponce, Caballero, etc.?

I honestly think Molitor is the real deal, he has excellent boxing skills, and excellent countering skills. One fight i really want to see is Molitor vs Martinez that would be a great stylistic match up. What really impresses me with Molitor is his patience you don't normally see young fighters with that kind of patience and it is really impressive to see.

I think he has a good chance of beating De Leon because of his great boxing skills. And as for Vasquez ?? not too sure about that one but it would be amazing fight,

I'd like to see him a step up a bit.

I'm not sure he has really great athletic ability but he's quick enough and he does seem pretty smart and skilled. I'd be interested in a Ponce fight cause he can definitely be outboxed but he has that power and I don't know a whole lot about Molitor's chin. He does seem pretty responsible defensively with the high guard and the movement.

I was impressed with how well he dealt with going to Michael Hunter's home town and dealing with the very hostile crowd and go on to ko an unbeaten opponent.

especially since he had been very inactive going into that fight.

Not sure how good of a win the Hunter one was, never seen Hunter before and he didn't seem like that good of a fighter to me.

Going into his hometown does make it better and once Molitor got going he did look good though.

Hunter was pretty good domestic level fighter, who held Commonwealth title, British Super Bantamweight title, European title. He was 26-0 when Molitor beat him so it was a good win for Molitor, i would rate Hunter short of World Class but good at Domestic level/European level.

Yep I'm a real big fan of Molitor I just love the way he fights.

He's one of the most self-confident or arrogant men in all of boxing but I like that. He's got the Carl Froch swagger and self belief but trades Froch's power for a tight defense.

He already thinks nobody else is on his level, has promised to retire Ponce De Leon if/when they fight and described Rafael Marquez and Israel Vazquez as 'decent brawlers' but not skilful boxers and claims he'll outclass them both.

As a long time loather of both Vazquez and Marquez (both of em) that's music to my ears.

BTW was it me or did the British announcers in the Hunter fight WAY overstate how well Hunter was doing in the first three rounds?

Like I said I want to see him step up and Ponce makes perfect sense.

I think Hunter was holding his own very well, Molitor didn't do a lot in 1st 3 rounds.

I'm a big fan of Molitor, in part because he's the only decent Canadian fighter not from Quebec. I'd love to see him step up against one of the big boys in the division after his next couple of fights. The only real question I have about him at this point is his chin. He got dropped against 3K Battery (it was incorrectly ruled a slip I believe) by pretty much the only flush punch he was hit with. It was more of a flash knockdown, he didn't seem badly hurt or anything, but I'd be willing to bet guys like Marquez, Vasquez, and De Leon hit a hell of a lot harder than 3K Battery does; they'd also be able to do a better job of hitting him flush as well.

Molitor has very good skills. He's a good fighter. But Marquez and Vazquez both blow his ass out

Molitor is a decent fighter, has skills but has not fought anyone of note. His last fight v 3k Battery,he was hurt wasnt he? That leads to questions about his chin for me. Pre-their own trilogy v each other,I'd definitely choose Marquez and Vazquez over him. They've fought every kind of style there is and come out on top. I'd like to see him v Ponce,I think he wins that one,but I'd be rooting for Daniel.

3K Battery dropped him, but he wasn't really hurt; Molitor still had his legs, though he did hold on/run a bit right after the knockdown. The thing that concerns me is that the punch that dropped him was pretty much the only flush shot 3K was able to land, which gives me some concern about Molitor's chin. His defense is really good though and he has underrated power.
