Sorry but can i ask what disappointed you about Holmes vs Cooney fight ?? that was incredible battle and one of the best Heavyweight fights of the 80s IMO.
An incredible battle?? It was a one-sided destruction. Cooney was just exposed as an overhyped fighter who benefited from some serious reverse affirmative action.
It was not one sided Cooney was fighting pretty competitive, with Holmes up until the stoppage. The commentators thought it was quite close including Sugar Ray Leonard who was commentating on the fight. And the Judges had it close as well.

Except for the knockdown in round 2, Cooney landed some big shots on Holmes and was fighting pretty well against Holmes i remember in one round i think it was the 10th, both men stood toe to toe and threw bombs at each other incredible round.
