Yep, that's the right answer. It's basically a quick counter hook that you throw while your opponent is rushing in.

Floyd landed the exact same punch in the 8th round, and it hurt Hatton and led to the big flurry in that round where it looked for a second like Hatton might get stopped.

Then in the 10th, Floyd backed up into the corner to set Hatton up, and landed the exact same punch again, just a little more flush.
what does that say of Hatton's trainers?? It shows that they are extremely deficient when it comes to training in that they didn't prepare their fighter to defend against the most elementary of punches. Neither did they help to adjust their fighter when these punches were regularly being landed by Floyd.
It says not a thing about his trainers..

It says ricky was ina tough fight and got frustrated about the referee and stopped moving his head on the way in and floyd quite rightly took advantage..

In the first hatton looked like old school hatton like when he fought tszyu he steps in and faints and does that leaping jab to catch him at long range and then side steps with the combinations..

And as the fight drew on he just got frustrated and wanted to rush him, was overcome with emotion

What is the difference between a check-hook and a regular left hook?

"A check hook is basically a mix of a hook and an uppercut. It comes in at a strange angle so it cant really be considered an uppercut. It's pretty basic you learn it in the amatuers, but even pro's make mistakes, which is why hatton took one to the chin."
    I found this:

    A check Hook:
A lucky punch that can be landed if the opponent is desperate and running at you full speed ahead. A fighter that is desperate and frustrated will run into this lucky punch. Of course the fighter has to be totaly wreckless and frustrated at that point. It helps if you have the referee doing everything possible to frustate your opponent as much as possible. Once your opponent is totaly frustrated, by the ref and by your own tactics such as holding, running, turning your back to your opponent, elbowing your opponent and ducking below the waist line the entire fight, and the ref warns the other guy for those tactics, you can easylie lure your opponent into a corner as he is running in at you full speed ahead and just left hook his @ss.

bahahahahah mate....i aint gotta clue what for and agree with literally nothing you say but what the hell lol your making me laugh today!
