you did say skilled and not tough face first boxer?
Gotta agree with Missy here. Morales was a brawler first and he did have skills but to be at #5 all time I would say is too high. The key word here is skills. Not career, or who beat who. Just skills.....
Eriks my fav. Bantam all time but....
MAB was more skilled then Erik
Saldivar was more skilled then Erik
Canto was more skilled the Erik
Roman was more skilled then Erik
I would say JMM is one of the most skilled fighters of this/his time so arguably I can see someone having him at #4.
(The again you could be listing fighters you have seen and know of)
When Morales used his skills he certainly was well up there. Morales had better boxing skills than MAB he didn't use them as often but he had better skills IMO.
I'm sorry but your waaay off on this one for me......
I'm a die hard Erik fan as I said to me hes the greatest All Time - Bantam. I hated the S***! out of MAB at one point couldn't stand the f*****...
But now that I'v come to my sensus I've realized how skilled and talented MAB was.
Erik was never one to outbox someone, tho he did have the skills (As I mentioned in my previous post) he brawled by choice.
My moneys on that MAB would have beaten Zahir would he have fought Zahir. Erik looked like a kid trying to catch a chicken just no sense of direction what so ever. Erik at his best was the 1st Pac fight that was amazing.
Erik always out gunned his opponents he was a punching machine. He head hunted faaar too much he would forget to attack the body and concentrated more on head volume punching.
While MAB never forgot to go to the body his jab was phenomenal throught his whole career and he moved exceptionally well in that ring.
But again your going on what you've seen....
He out boxed Daniel Zaragoza, he out boxed Manny Pacquiao. By choosing his spots knowing went to attack and when not to. Morales may of been in more brawls than boxing matches but that doesn't mean he isn't one of the best skilled Mexican fighters. Take Meldrick Taylor for example he had great skills but he was in more brawls than boxing matches, but does that make him not one of the most skilled fighters of his era because he had warrior mentality and liked to get stuck in there and have a toe to toe war ??

And its exactly the same for Morales he like to get stuck in there and have toe to toe war but that doesn't change how greatly skilled he was.
