I said before the first fight that there would be a rematch,and now Hatton got KTFO rather than losing by poitns as most thought,Oscar fighting him would be a HUGE no-no. He will probably fight Cotto if his wife lets him,so that leaves 1 other fight(he said he wants 2 more)-Mayweather?

No i wouldn't Oscar can only do worse in the rematch with his age, Mayweather beat Oscar De La Hoya comfortably by 4 or 3 rounds there is no need for rematch. If Mayweather did fight him again then all Mayweather haters would be coming out of the woodwork. Plus i don't think this fight would get anywhere near the interest as the 1st fight.

For me it holds no interest. Like Finito said it would bring some negative reactions if Floyd did fight him again{and I would be one of them who would be negative}. It was a great event when it happened, but Oscar would do worse the next time, as once Floyd figures you out it will look silly the next time around IMO. Floyd needs to fight someone else. Oscar needs to do whatever it is he plans on doing; maybe beating up Hatton I for one wouldn't pay to see part II.

I think Oscars going on boarderline "Diva" status.Something about being so deeply intrenched in the Promotions,working in close proximity with HBO and well on his way to being "The man" in the Ivory tower with GBP.I just think he's not done a thing lately that merits another major showcase.That might sound wack and I know he is the money man but I think He needs to step aside and stick to the promotion aspect.No interest in this fight for me,Natta's. I would be Interested in Mayweathers next fight vs.Cotto,Margarito,Clottey,Williams....anyone Etc (No Im not saying they beat him)..I know he is also a buisness man and the risk/reward ratio is a key in the next fight but Going backwards in a rematch with Oscar is nothing but a cash grab Imo,He'll smack Oscar around even worse.

Watching the last couple of fights from PBF all of them have been blowouts except for the ODH fight so maybe Oscar is not a shot as we think he is, But PBF 2 should not happen, it's time for Cotto to get his payday so let's get an Oscar Vs Cotto fight

Well said, I would like to see Mayweather fight Cotto then Williams but if those fights cannot be made then Oscar V Floyd 2 would be fine by me, it was a split decision in the record books and that means unfinished business. I think Floyd would win a rematch but Oscar is Oscar and who is a bigger name?

Mayweather needs to wait to the welterweight devison sorts itself out a bit. A fight with Cotto appeals to me a lot. Oscar is a backwards step now, and all it will show is that Oscar is offically ruined. He wont beat floyd!

Whilst I'm not as negatice about it as most Oscar in my opinion if he is to show that he is still a major force needs to win a fight and put on a great performance against one of the other contenders.

Floyd beat Oscar fair and square and like everyone else I feel the ONLY fight out there for Floyd is Miguel Cotto.

But I am still looking forward to Oscar's next fight providing it's not against Floyd or Ricky.

I'd love to see him fight Cotto, that would be a great fight. Another Mosely fight or a clash with Vernon Forrest would really appeal to me as well.

He could of course go for another world title and take on someone like Paul Williams or Kermit Cintron but although I think both fights would be appealing to watch from a marketing point of view I really doubt Oscar would go anywhere near them.

Oscar has reached that stage in his career where he's a promoter as much as a boxer and so he's only interested in fighting in major boxing events.

He's certainly not about to take a difficult fight to try and get himself back up the rankings, like Hopkins and Jones Jr he's fighting now more to put on a show then to be an active player in any division.

I don't really mind this. I think these guys who have worked so hard to get where they are at deserve the luxary of a couple 'exhibition' fights but I' also aware that hardcore Saddonians are not so friendly towards them.

You're right Bil,I'm not really a fan of this exhibition fighter stuff. The only reason I'm not harsher on Oscar is because he draws crowds and gives good events but that is the ONLY reason I see him fighting as a good thing. People only want to fight him for the payday. In fact,it may seem harsh,but to me,that's all he is now,a payday.

I totally disagree,whilst it was not a total beating,Oscar lost by at least 3-4 rounds. The only times he was having success imo was when Mayweather was gunshy during the round or when Oscar used the jab,which was rarely because it was not the night of the jab. From round 8 or 9 onwards,Mayweather was in TOTAL control.He even wobbled Oscar twice during the fight and Oscar didn't land a SINGLE good left hook or right hand except in the last 30 seconds of the fight.(his right hand was non existent) He missed ALOT of shots and threw a bunch of arm punches to the body. Mayweather won that fight easily for me and most people I know,unless you want to score ineffective agression and missed punches. It was a split decision purely on the basis of moronic judges who score fights in favour of the guy coming forward,which is idiotic.

I thought it was a close fight. Whilst I certainly think the right guy got the decision I've certainly seen other similiar fights go the other way.

If Oscar would have been given the decision it would have been no more controversial than the first Toney Peter fight imo.

Certainly it wouldn't have been a worse decision than D Hop against Forbes, or Forrest over Quartey.

And whilst I agree that Floyd would win a rematch I do think the fight was close and competitive and that Oscar in no way looked like a finished fighter.

His performance against Floyd I felt was as good as Shanes against Cotto and I certainly don't think that Shane should hang them up.

They are both still hugely talented fighters and I still want to watch them fight.

I wouldn't be excited but of course I'd watch it, I watched Joshua Clottey-Shamone Alvarez the other day and actually paid attention to the Tye Fields fight. I watch just about anything.
