Come on man be fair. It IS is huge fight for David Haye. He's only ever had one fight at heavyweight before against a virtual unknown and now he's moving up and straight away is fighting one of the most recognisable names in the entire division.Originally Posted by Althugz

It's a fact that of the all the UK's current domestic heavyweights, fighters who have been campaigning at the weight for years, only Danny Williams has EVER fought better competition.
Haye IS making a HUGE statement by exploding onto the British heavyweight boxing scene and bypassing the nice comfortable little merry go round of fights involving Skelton, Williams, Harrison, Sprott, Gammer, McDermot et al and instead going straight for probably the 3rd most well known current heavyweight in the world after Evander Holyfield and Wladimir Klitschko.
Rahman is one of the few names in heavyweight boxing that the casual UK fan can identify with and Haye is taking him on in practically his first attempt as a heavyweight.
You have to give the kid credit, he's already pushed himself further than any of our other heavyweights Danny Williams excluded and who knows what will happen if he beats Rahman.
