In the grand scheme of things, this fight is fricking pointless,so where do you think they will go? Is Tito going to retire again? Is Roy going to try to get revenge on Johnson?IS tITO GOING TO FIGHT AT 168?!

Hopefully into retirement where they both belong.

They are 2 of my fave fighters of all time,in fact I think most on this board love them but,as harsh as you sound,I think you are right.Jones is just hurting his legacy with the losses(I know he has won 2 in a row but his performance v Tarver was embaressing and woeful and why fight this smaller guy!) and Tito is fighting purely for the $$$ imo.
This "fight" is a farce.More of an event with big names.Dont see it having inpact on general standings.Jones is scratching and clawing at a way to remain relevant.Tito needs to re-retire and stay there.
i disagree RJJ has a fair bit left in the tank he just needs to stay active the guy is fighting once maybe twice a year and at his age and where he is in his carrer he needs at least 3 fight in a year to sharpen up and have one last shot at the Hopkins/JC winner. If BHOP wins then i can see RJJ beating him because he isnt very active and Jones wouldnt have to work at a pace hes uncomfortable with, If JC wins then i still think he could probibly put on a good show and push Joe because JC isnt a massive puncher but i think ultimatly he would tire down the stretch losing a UD.
As for Tito the guy ll do anything for money but if he loses this one then he needs to hand em up before he gets seriously hurt. Winky made him look real bad and i think Jones ll do the same possibly KOing him early hes way out of his weight class and has no buisness fighting a light heavyweight regardless of how faded Jones is especially after a long period of inactivity.
Just my 2 cents but hey what the hell do i know lol
Depends on hiw they look....If Roy is impressive and is able to blow Trinidad out (something he should be able to do just because for the factors involved) he may be able to make one last run at things....successful or not he can make a good showing at it....the division is not all that stacked right now...
As for Trinidad if he wins no matter how he look I suggest a drop in weight or I forsee a loss happening to one of the younger guys...but who knows...IMO size is the factor for him

......the old folks home
Well they both better forget about fighting Calzaghe, maybe a match up with old man Hopkins might be the go! Could you imagine what Calzaghe, Kessler or Dawson would do to these geriatric legends?
Let's try and remember these two great fighters for what they were not what they have become, tired old has beens!
RJJ needs to fight Dawson,Woods or Johnson !
Tito can just retire.![]()
I'd love to see Roy Jones fight Glen Johnson for a piece of the LH title after Johnson is done whippin BCD for it. If he beat Johnson he could retire a world champion and having beaten every man he ever faced.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
Roy Jones is done . Tito could still get some big bucks if he gets a rematch with Oscar. Tito was bad vs Wright but he could still be a good fighter and win some fight if he goes to light middle.
Roy may be done, but he'll still whip Tito. For sure.Originally Posted by mikeboxing

For what it's worth I think Jones should KO Trinidad but he may just coast to a wide points win. So for Tito I say it's back into retirement. I would favor Glen Johnson over Jones at this point so I don't think Jones should take that fight. Just throwing this out there but I think his best option would be to move up & face Holyfield. It's another big name & another hall of famer on Jones record.
If by some chance Trinidad does win a DLH rematch would be his best option!

Well, Lyle was allowed a witty response to the thread title, so here's mine.
If Tito wins, and it seems unlikely to me, I'm not sure if he'll really do much. He might go back into retirement, unless he's offered another big money fight for a title, which he would probably lose, then sending him into retirement.
As for RJJ, his ego won't let him give up the game, a little like Holyfield, and I have no doubts that he is still after a title fight, and if we assume that Calzaghe and Hopkins are out of the picture, and Chad Dawson v Glen Johnson, I wouldn't be surprised to see him take on Clinton Woods in a fight that he really thinks he would win.
Jones ain't ever fightin Woods again. No Way. No How. It makes no sense.Originally Posted by superheavyrhun
