You may be right. But, on the other hand, it certainly isn't a given that Pacman will get by JMM, so they might not wish to count their chickens and assume the fight will happen. I don't think he'll fight Witter. While the fight would probably be big in the UK, there would be about zero interest in that fight in the US, and Hatton is interested in making a big name over here, so I don't see that one happening, and the reasons are understandable from the business side of things. I could see the Paulie fight coming off, though. We'll see. I just don't see anything "pathetic" about him taking on Pacman given the $$$ involved. The purse dwarfs anything else he could make, sans a fight with De La Hoya.

And if Mayweather didn't KO him, he'd probably be fighting DLH next. It just seems like a bitch move to fight Pac, especially considering most would want to bounce back and reestablish themselves after a loss.. To do that he needs to beat a world class fighter his own size. If he doesn't think he can do it, then why fight at all.

Well, maybe he will fight and beat a world class fighter before the end of this year, which is when the fight would supposedly happen. As far as "why fight at all" goes, the answer is pretty simple...$$$. There is a LOT of dough for Hatton to make by fighting Pacman. That might not be a satisfactory answer to some die hard boxing fans, but it is certainly understandable. And, as I said before, I don't think it is as much of a mismatch as some are implying. Pacman's superior speed could rule the day if he fights a disciplined bout.

If Pacquiao gets by Marquez on March 15, he would move up in weight to 135-pounds to challenge David Diaz for the WBC lightweight title. The Diaz fight would probably happen in June/July. If he beats Diaz, the next step would be Hatton.

There is a long way to go yet. If Pacman is going to tackle Juan Diaz 1st. Let's see how Pacman does against Marquesz and Diaz and Hatton in his comeback. At the moment it doesn't seem feasable but this is boxing and anything can happen.

I think if Ricky gets back to winning ways then Pacman will soon change his mind.

Im hoping Manny loses to JMM because I don't see David Diaz beating him.Diavid Diaz is and has been an average fighter with lots of determination.Nothing more and nothing less.Ricky will probably take a tune up,in Britain beforehand.I can't believe this fight is going to happen if they win?!Manny has so many other fights he can take which are more winnable/have more significance/more exciting:Juan Diaz,Valero,Guzman etc etc.
