My wife Donna thought Oscar Dela Hoya was the guy who sang the song "hero" when I mentioned him one time, but she knew who Tyson and Holyfield were.Originally Posted by Hulk

I voted but I don't think I need to explain and lay out whom I voted for. I think the answers obvious.![]()
This is true, but most of his early fans were outside the boxing comunity. The gold medal, the hole storie about his mother, his good looks all lead to a celeberty status. But it was after his reign as a welterweight that he began to get the respect from real boxing fans. His company also knows how to promote a fight and make it big. It is from the Trinidad fight on that he really started to make ridiculous amounts of money.Originally Posted by brazilianbomber

Even though Oscar is a true warrior and in the ring and has displayed more courage than Tyson ever has I voted for leg iron mike.
Even though I dont rate him as highly as most on this site I have alway said that Tyson was the most exciting boxer I have ever watched live.(on tv)
Even when way past his best when he was fighting 2nd and 3 rate boxers I could not help but watch.
Balls
That actually suprises me...Originally Posted by Hulk

. Donna is just very boxing dumb. She has no interest in it at all and will never sit down to watch the fights.

it is a tie for me with Tyson & oscar. Tyson was who turned me into a boxing fan & oscar has been my favorite fighter after the decline of tyson. also I am from calgary alberta canada & a lot of people here only know tyson & delahoya. an occasional person would know also about roy jones & arturo gatti.Originally Posted by Deanrw

i think Holyfield is just as popular as Tyson or Oscar or at least close i knew Holyfield before any other boxer out there.
I didn't mention Holyfield did I? Quit startin trouble. You got two choices: Mike or Oscar. Pick one!Originally Posted by Mr140
