Long term, yes it did, because alot of people are going to blame him(rightly or wrongly) for his fans acting like it was England-Argentinia in the World Cup Finals
It wont be nearly so once sided for Calzaghe-Hopkins,Bernards considerably more popular in the states then Floyd(that might change shortly,Floyd was actually pretty magnanimous in his victory against Hatton which is a side few have seen of him before)
As far as how Joe is going to travel, who knows,he doesnt do it,he's only had one fight outside the United Kingdom is in his entire career, and that was Germany, against Veit
We were discussing whether Calzaghe is going to be disadvantaged by fighting in Vegas, not whether Ricky Hatton's marketability was affected by the behaviour of his fans. Read it through again.

Joe also fought a dozen times in England before he fought for a world title, which is the equivalent of Bernard fighting in Mexico a dozen times before he fought for a world title. Joe got the same treatment the American national anthem got at the Hatton-Mayweather fight a dozen times before he even had a belt, so the line we constantly hear about him being a home fighter only just isn't true. Fighting in Vegas in front of effectively a home crowd isn't going to disadvantage Calzaghe. Hopkins won't draw breath even in Vegas. Almost all his tickets will end up with British ticket agencies. This is his last big fight and he's going to make every penny he can.
Which is of course why Hopkins fights are PPV in the states, and Calzaghe drew only a pathetic 2.8 share for free on HBO in a title unification bout
